In the ongoing pandemic, Japan has lifted the “state of emergency” in all except five prefectures. As the lockdown is lifted, many delayed anime and manga schedules are about to fall back to their normal rhythm.
The production of Pokémon Journeys: The Series was suspended due to the pandemic. The broadcast was halted, and reruns of previous episodes were aired.
However, it was announced through the official Twitter account of the Pokémon anime franchise that new episodes will be released on 7th June at 6: 00pm in Japan. From the looks of it, the lifted “state of emergency” is finally allowing broadcast schedules to be resumed.
Not only was the Pokémon anime delayed, but several other adaptations of the franchise were delayed as well. The 5th episode of Pokémon: Twilight Wings was rescheduled from May to 5th June. The 23rd movie of the franchise, Pokémon the Movie: Coco was also postponed till further notice.
We know for sure that our favorite anime is going to get back on track. However, we still don’t have any concrete information about Pokémon The Movie: Coco.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series first aired in November 2019 in Japan. It covers the adventures of our protagonist Ash Ketchum, Goh, and Chloe as they travel across the 8 Pokémon franchise regions. It has released 22 episodes so far. In the last aired episodes, Ash acquired a Riolu for the first time, which led to excitement among the fans.

The 23rd episode of the series titled, “A Massive Panic! Sakuragi Park!!” revolves around the mystery of food disappearing in the Sakuragi park. Fans are definitely looking forward to the next episode as the delay of the anime ends.
