PlayStation really hit the ball out of the park with their DualSense Edge controller. With fancy features, great accessibility, and customization, it elevated the basic controller to a premium level. Sadly, it is in the middle of a troubling controversy.

PlayStation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a Limited Edition PS Controller. However, fans are deeply upset over its design choice. The color scheme for the high-end controller in question is every shade of grey you could imagine.

Many expected the controller to be black. Arguably it is the better choice. Moreover, players also expressed concern over the joysticks, which are mismatched for reasons only known to Sony.

It’s certainly not the first time the DualSense Edge has been on the news for the wrong reasons! Not only does it have a smaller battery than its predecessor, it also has a shorter battery life. It is crazy that Sony thought nobody would notice this change.

Given the tragic color choices, several users went for the DualSense instead.

This is nothing new for Sony. The company has faced anniversary-related backlash more than they would like. Most people lash out after they miss out on anniversary products. Since they are part of a limited edition collection, their stock is way, way less. 

Here’s how the situation looks: PlayStation announces an attractive, collector’s edition product. You save up, you wait patiently for its release. Launch day arrives, and alas, the product is sold out before you get a chance to click Buy. Not fair, right?

In early 2024, the commemorative lineup went live on PlayStation Direct. As expected, many longtime, loyal supporters could not get their hands on it. Some even complained about the absurd pricing. All this combined certainly left a stain on PlayStation’s agenda.
