Sony revealed the PSVR2 controller in March last year. After which, the company launched an exclusive website for the latest info about the PSVR2 news. The console launch was then delayed unexpectedly due to a shortage of components. Regardless, we finally have an official launch period.
Sony confirmed that PlayStation VR2 will be launched in early 2023.
Although an exact date is not disclosed, we do have a release window. Fans can purchase the new VR headset and controller before March, which marks the end of the financial year.
The PlayStation VR2 promises a revolutionary VR gaming experience with two graphical modes for VR and non-VR gaming.
The console offers up to 120Hz refresh rates for VR experiences at 4K HDR, custom play areas, eye-tracking, 3D audio-tech, a see-through view, and the feature to live stream.
Some of the games in development for PlayStation VR2 are Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, Horizon Call of the Mountain, and No Man’s Sky.
With an expected release month, the only thing left is the pricing for the VR2. It will likely be affected by supply chain issues, high inflation, conversion rates, and unstable production in China.
The new design also comes with upgraded, high-quality tech and hardware. The original VR was priced at $350, so it won’t be surprising if the next-gen console is more expensive than that.
