Fans have been asking for Sony to drop an announcement for a huge PlayStation showcase for the past few months, which would showcase upcoming PlayStation 5 games. Even though they didn’t announce a huge event, they did announce a new State of Play after all.
Sony has announced a new State of Play showcase for tomorrow, which will be focused on Final Fantasy XVI. This 20-minute-long event will offer an “all-new look” at the game, including details about the game’s Eikons and Dominants, battle system and the game’s dark-fantasy setting.
The new stream was announced via PlayStation’s official Twitter account and through the PlayStation blog. It’s still unclear if there will be any additional announcements besides the Final Fantasy XVI gameplay showcase, as Sony did reveal 5 new PSVR2 titles in their previous State of Play showcase.
Final Fantasy XVI received its “gone gold” status quite early, which is a good thing as it hints at how polished the final game is, and most games, in general, go gold roughly a month before they launch so players need not worry about how polished the final game will be.
Final Fantasy XVI lets you play as Clive Rosefield, who witnesses his kingdom being destroyed and sets out on a revenge quest in pursuit of the dark Eikon Ifrit. The game is set to release this year on June 22 exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
About Final Fantasy XIV Online
Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG developed and published by Square Enix.
Due to the failure of the game’s original 2010 version, the current one was made to address all the criticisms and features a new game engine, revamped gameplay, story as well as improved servers.
The vast improvements from the original version, as well as the introduction of new content on a daily basis, has been the cause for the game to be received with a largely positive reception and staying relevant after almost a decade since it’s release!
The game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, and macOS, with an Xbox One version currently in development.
