The results of Network tests have further solidified the belief that Elden Ring is here to dominate. The first-hand experience provided by this test access was mouthwatering, to say the least, as it helped oodles of lucky fans feel the thrill of a realm that’s the perfect blend of dazzling highs and spine-tingling lows.
Not a lot of games can make you squirm uncomfortably while leaving you wanting for more, but this FromSoftware’s open-world RPG is no dime a dozen.
Anyone who got to dive into its fantasy world came out praising the freedom of exploration, weapons and classes customization, and immense amounts of side missions that the realm throws at you to handle.
Amid a plethora of such elements that helped Elden Ring garner laudations from fans, one particular boon that many didn’t come across was the Mimic Veil.
Found inside a simple chest that lies in the high chambers of Stormveil Castle, the Mimic Veil is an inventory item that can be activated for a chump change of mana. Once set in motion, it turns you into harmless objects like statues, crates, shrubs, etc., so you can avoid foes’ attention by becoming a part of the environment.
This ultimately adds a new dimension to fighting in the gruesome world of Elden Ring. Once you have deceived adversaries by mimicking props, you can move at a slow pace and approach the unaware enemy to inflict heavy damage.
Needless to say, this method is going to demand a lot of dedication and patience as you will have to carefully monitor the enemy’s movement and then plan yours accordingly.
In case the foe manages to catch the “disguised” you moving, your plan of sneaking up on them will go down the drain. Consequently, you’ll have to deactivate the veil and take on the enemy, knowing that it’s fully ready to slash you into pieces now.
But then again, if such tactics are too much of a nuisance for you, then there’s no harm in utilizing the veil for playing a little Hide and Seek, avoiding combat altogether, and advancing past anyone you don’t want to be in the bad books of.
Elden Ring is slated to hit the shelves on February 25 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
