Episode nine of the anime Platinum End starts with introducing a new character called Sakotani Hajime. He was ugly, poor, and his mother committed suicide.

So when an angel gives him a second chance at life, what will he do? Get plastic surgery to look like the next Joestar family member.

Metropoliman takes Mukaido’s family hostage. Hajime even cuts up the wedding dress Mukaido had made for his daughter to send a message. Will his family live?

When asked about why Saki’s outfit looks like a sexy cat, Mukaido explains it away, citing efficiency. Very believable, Mukaido.

Revel is shown having a hard time taking in all knowledge of the universe, but he still keeps on trying hard. Will he succeed and give Saki wings?

Mukaido is in big trouble now that his family has been taken hostage. He seems to have lost perspective and his calm. He is choosing to fall into Metropoliman’s trap without a plan. Fans think he should get out of this alive, but we’re not so sure about his family.

Episode 10 of the Platinum End anime has been released on Thursday, Dec 09, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

Episode 9 Recap

The episode introduces a new character called Sakotani Hajime, torturing a private detective to get information about who hit him with a red arrow before he could.

We see a flashback of Hajime being poor and ugly, so much so that he tried to commit suicide. That is when the angel Balta rescued him. With the red arrow, he got plastic surgeries done, but he remained a shut-in.

He was mesmerized by Metropoliman’s charming personality and convinced Metropoliman to let him be his slave.

On the other end, Mukaido, Mirai, Saki, and the angels move into the church. Mukaido hands Saki the armor suit that looks like a cat.

Mukaido’s red arrow comes back to him, and this can only happen if a person he had shot dies. Suspecting it to be Metropoliman’s work, he and Mirai put their suits on to check on Mukaido’s wife and child.

Hajime is seen standing outside his home. Without paying mind to him, Mukaido breaks in and searches for his family. Of course, they aren’t found, and Mirai doesn’t hesitate to shoot a red arrow at Hajime, who swiftly dodges and flies away.

He comes to an amusement park where he has locked Mukaido’s family in a glasshouse. Mukaido gets a call from Metropoliman telling him to rescue his family if he can.

Platinum End is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square monthly magazine from November 2015 to January 2021.

An anime television series adaptation by Signal.MD will premiere on TBS in October 2021.

The series follows Mirai Kakehashi, a student who attempts suicide but is rescued by his guardian angel, Nasse.

Nasse not only has vowed to protect him but bestows him with special powers as he is also one of 13 candidates chosen by different angels to take the role of God, who is to retire in 999 days.
