Asahi tries out some weird outfit for Niyodo to make him stand out, but it backfired. Asahi turned her focus on Yoshino for this episode and wanted Niyodo to spend time with him to know his partner better.
We got into the life of Yoshino, who was probably ignored all this time. We came to know how he became an idol and also about his insecurities. His character developed a little, and the bonding between Yoshino and Niyodo also strengthened.

There seems to be some kind of contest in the next episode of Phantom of the Idol. The protagonists will get into some competition with some girls who might be their fans.
The next episode looks like another hilarious affair. The anime is trying its best to keep it high on comedy though it is not always impactful. Episode 4 feels more like a filler episode, but nothing can be claimed until it is actually released.

Episode 3 Recap
Niyodo shows up at his manager’s office in a weird office. Seeing him in that costume, the manager falls unconscious. We get to know that the manager wanted fans to know about the everyday life of ZINGS.
For that to happen, Niyodo has to have something interesting going on in his life. Asahi decides to learn more about his personality, and it is not surprising that their personalities, habits, and hobbies are completely different.
Asahi makes him wear the weird outfit mentioned above. She tries to form a personality for Niyodo based on that outfit. However, Niyodo is not at all impressed by it. Despite that, Asahi enters his body and shows up at the manager’s office.
Yoshino also shows up there and is shocked to see Niyodo’s outfit. Even he is not impressed by the outfit. He tries to ask about himself to Niyodo, but the question is left unanswered as the manager wakes up and the topic changes.
Back home, Asahi gets a little worried about Yoshino, so she tells Niyodo to go out with him. We get to know that Yoshino was unwantedly pushed to become an idol. Still, Niyodo’s personality impacted him, and he was able to cope with the overwhelming feelings in his heart.
The next day, Yoshino and Niyodo meet, and Niyodo tells Yoshino to decide where they should go. Yoshino takes them to a restaurant he always wanted to go to. Asahi is astonished by the food menu, enters Niyodo’s body, and orders an expensive ice cream.
They start talking, and Yoshino tells Niyodo (Asahi has control of his body) that he doesn’t feel special or like an idol. He finds Niyodo special. Asahi is not able to continue the conversation further. She rushes towards the washroom.
Two girls (who are his fans) arrive at Yoshino’s table and ask for his email address. He hesitates but is not able to answer them properly. Niyodo shows up and denies completely sharing anything with them.
Yoshino feels a little confident and explains to the two girls that they are not allowed to share personal information with fans.
Yoshino’s heart feels light now, and he is somewhat happy after Niyodo praises him for always being there for him.

Phantom of the Idol (Kami Kuzu Idol) is a supernatural comedy manga by Hijiki Isoflavone. It began serialization in December 2017 in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sum and has been licensed by Kodansha Comics.
The story is about the lazy Yuuya Niyodo, who’s a part of the idol duo ZINGS. One day after a sloppy performance, Yuuya encounters Asahi Mogami, a cheerful female idol. The twist is that Asahi has been dead for a year, and this turns Yuuya’s life upside-down.
