Not every anime needs to be a masterpiece. Sometimes you just want to turn your brain off and watch something dumb and fun like Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time.
It features all kinds of harem tropes you would expect from the genre, with some scenes that go a bit too far. After shockingly gaining popularity all over the world last year, the series is back with a sequel.
The official website for Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time has announced the anime’s second season. The staff of the anime will reveal the details at a later date this year.
The story takes place in a generic fantasy world where Peter Grill is the world’s strongest fighter and has run into an unexpected problem; females all around the world, humans, orcs, and goblins alike, want to bear his children. Unfortunately, he is already engaged to the love of his life and must avoid temptations around him to be loyal to her.
Aside from Japan, the show gained astounding popularity overseas, where short anime don’t do that well. The “action” packed 12-minute episodes seem to have hit just right with the international audience. Anything more than that would have been too much anyway.
Fans of the show can expect things to remain the same for the most part, except new girls from new species, of course. The producers have also hinted towards the introduction of Peter Grill’s younger sister, who is rumored to be as strong as him.
While it’s no secret that this isn’t Death Note, don’t be afraid to watch Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time when the second season comes out.
