Perry Mason S2 Trailer Shows Him Fighting His Biggest Case Yet

The trailer for Perry Mason season 2 shows the titular defense attorney amid the most significant court case of his life.

The series is based on the crime stories by Erle Stanley Gardner and is a 1930’s period drama starring Matthew Rhys as Mason.

Season 1 of the show saw a PTSD-affected private detective who Jonathan hired to investigate the kidnapping and murder of Charlie Dodson.

HBO’s latest trailer shows Mason being hired for the biggest case of his life, and things are apparently becoming too much for him to handle. Check out the trailer for season 2 below:

The trailer lays the foundation for what is to come in season 2. Two poor Mexican people are accused of a crime Mason thinks they didn’t commit. Mason and his team go on a quest to uncover some of the most powerful and shadiest businessmen in Los Angeles.

Season 1’s Dodson fiasco still weighs heavily on our titular attorney. This time, he will try to bolster his reputation by going with his gut and trying to defend two men already convicted by the media and public.

We still don’t know who the victim is in season 2. However, an oilfield is prominently shown in the trailer, and we expect the victim to be an oil tycoon.

Although the courtroom drama will form the crux of season 2, Mason’s personal battles and his character arc will be given much importance.

The trailer shows the lawyer struggling to connect with his son and trying to form romantic bonds with Ginny Aimes. His emotional battles seem to intensify in season 2, and the conundrum in the courtroom will only make it worse.

Fortunately, Perry Mason has a trustworthy team who always seems to have his back. In Season 1, his associates Della Street and Paul Drake assumed iconic roles, which helped the lawyer exponentially in the end.

Season 2 also highlights these characters at the peak of their powers, ready to take Mason’s side in case things plummet downhill!
