The first two episodes of Percy Jackson are out, and boy, what a start it has been! Millions of closeted half-bloods like us finally have something to counter Warner Bros.’s unreal depiction of the Potterverse.
Last week’s episode was all about Medusa and her story. For a change, the show portrays her as a grey character who has been a victim of the cruelty of the Gods.
So, what can you and I expect from the next episode that’ll come out on January 2? Let’s get Sherlocking! (Hint: The title says it all!)
1. Episode 4 Synopsis/Speculation
Episode 4 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is titled, ‘I Plunge to My Death,’ i.e., the same as Chapter 13 in Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief.
The makers have followed the canon in episodes 1, 2 and 3, so next week’s episode will presumably do the same.
As per the book, next week’s episode will see Percy’s stepfather, Gabe, put his name in newspapers, as he is the prime suspect in his mother’s disappearance. Gabe will even offer a cash reward for Percy.
We can also expect to see Percy and Annabeth grow closer. Going by the books, Annabeth will talk to Percy about her father and how she was born.
Percy will get another nightmare, which he will interpret as Hades’ message for him. However, Annabeth will think otherwise.
The trio will take a three-hour layover stop at St. Louis. Upon Annabeth’s wishes, they will visit the St. Louis Gateway Arch during this time. In a Harry-Ron-Hermione-esque bond, Annabeth will teach the two other boys about the arch and its history.
We can also expect to see a few other essential characters in Episode 4, such as Echidna, the Mother of Monsters, and her son, Chimera. In the book, we see Echidna and Chimera appear in the form of a strange lady with her pet Chihuahua and attack Percy.
Percy will fight Echidna but accidentally drop his sword through a hole blasted by Chimera.
Echidna will mock him to jump into the hole for his failure and Percy will give in to her words, asking for his father’s help when he leaps.

The fourth episode of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be available on Apple TV+ on January 2, 2024.
