1. Did Percy successfully complete the quest?
Percy Jackson finishes his quest in Percy Jackson and the Olympians episode 8. After getting the Helm of Darkness from Ares, he returns it to Hades and finally returns the Master Bolt to Zeus.
Last week’s episode teased a grand duel between Percy and Ares over Hades’ Helm of Darkness. However, Percy draws the first blood, and Hades keeps his side of the bargain.
Percy returns it to Hades and finally makes his way to Mount Olympus atop the Empire State Building.
Thereafter, Percy returns the Master Bolt to the King of the Gods and explains that Kronos is behind the mayhem. Thus, Percy is able to save the world from descending into anarchy by completing his quest.
2. Why does Poseidon Surrender to Zeus in the Season Finale?
In the finale, Zeus’ arrogance instigates him to continue his war with Poseidon even after Percy returns his Master Bolt. However, Poseidon surrenders to him to save his son from Zeus’ wrath and also because he understands that a godly war will play perfectly in the hands of Kronos.
Despite returning the Master Bolt, Zeus’ arrogance overcomes him because Percy missed the deadline. This angers the godling, and he criticizes Zeus for weakening the Gods just as Kronos wants.
Just when Zeus is about to annihilate Percy, Poseidon appears and surrenders to the King of Gods.
Poseidon’s surrender can be attributed to two major reasons. Firstly, he wants to save his son from being reduced to debris by Zeus. Secondly, Poseidon thinks that a war between the Gods will only help the nefarious cause of Kronos sitting in the depths of Tartarus.
3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Main Villain Revealed: Luke Castellan
In the season finale, Percy realizes that the real Lightning Thief is Luke Castellan. The betrayal stems from his intense hatred of his father, Hermes, and how the careless Gods use their demigods for selfish means.
We realize that Kronos and Ares were the masterminds behind the Lightning Bolt fiasco. However, their major enabler inside Camp Half-Blood has been Luke Castellan.
After the quest, Percy ventures into the forest with Luke to bring Justice to Clarisse for siding with Ares and helping him steal the Gods’ symbol of power.
However, Percy soon realizes that Luke has been the mastermind all along. The son of Hermes hates his father and all the Gods in Olympus for being self-centered individuals who use demigods as pawns for their means.
Before Percy can nab him, Luke escapes Camp Half-Blood through a portal. This sets up Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ season 2 ideally as Percy tries even harder to revive Kronos from the pits of Tartarus.
4. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Prophecy Explained
Before discussing how the prophecy comes true, let’s recap what Delphi’s prophecy said in episode 2:
You shall go west and face the God who has turned. You will find what was stolen and see it safely returned. You shall be betrayed by the one who calls you friend. And fail to save what matters most in the end..
The first line refers to Ares, who was manipulated by Kronos and turned against his own father and uncles on Mount Olympus.
The second line is the most obvious one in the prophecy. It refers to the fact that Percy will be able to return the Hades’ helm of Darkness and Zeus’ Master Bolt to their respective owners at the end of the quest.
The third line obviously refers to Luke Castellan and his betrayal. Luke compromises his integrity to the Gods for his allegiance to Kronos.
The last line refers to the fact that Percy fails to save his mother, Sally, i.e., the person who matters to him the most.
5. How Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 1 Finale Sets Up Season 2’s Premise
Grover’s future will be the crux of Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2. In the season 1 finale, Grover reveals that the quest has enabled him to get a Searcher’s license. Thus, he can leave immediately searching for Pan, the Greek God of the wild.
Grover also reveals that the satyrs have already looked for Pan on the surface of the Earth. Therefore, they will search for the lost God in Earth’s oceans. This sets up the premise of the next installment of Percy Jackson, called ‘Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters.’
In the beginning, Annabeth and Percy will discover that Grover is in trouble in the Sea of Monsters. This will force them to embark on a quest to save their best friend from mortal peril. Will they be able to do it?

Percy Jackson And The Olympians is an upcoming Disney+ show which will follow the events of the book series of the same name by Rick Riordan. The fantasy action series is now in production.
