The first two episodes of Percy Jackson are out, and boy, what a start it has been! Millions of closeted half-bloods like us finally have something to counter Warner Bros.’s unreal depiction of the Potterverse.
A plethora of CGI marvels are served as appetizers in the first two episodes, including a raging Minotaur, winged Furies, and many more. This, along with a near-perfect adaptation from the canon books, makes me extremely excited for the upcoming episodes of the saga.
So, what can you and I expect from the next episode that’ll come out on December 26? Let’s get Sherlocking! (Hint: The title says it all!)
1. Episode 9 Synopsis/Speculation
Episode 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is titled, ‘We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium,’ i.e., the same as Chapter 11 in Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief.
The makers have followed the canon in episodes 1 and 2, so next week’s episode will presumably do the same.
Chiron assigns the quest of finding Zeus’ stolen Lightning Bolt to Percy, Annabeth, and Grover in last week’s episode. Thereafter, the trio realizes that the bolt has been stolen by Hades, the God of the Underworld. The next few episodes will be about them trying to reach the Underworld and retrieve the precious Lightning Bolt. So, how does the ‘Garden Gnome Emporium’ come into the story? Let’s focus on the canon here.
According to the books, the three receive gifts and supplies from Chiron and others at the camp to aid their quest. Thereafter, they leave Camp Half-Blood and board a bus. That is when disaster strikes.
Annabeth notices Mrs. Dodds and her three sisters. They are the Furies, i.e., monsters sent to kill the demigods. After an epic fight, Percy defeats them using some top-notch Riptide action and help from Grover and Annabeth.
However, the main attraction of episode 3 will come from the book’s next chapter.
After the bus explosion fiasco, the trio comes across a curious antique shop called, ‘Aunty Em’s Garden Gnome Emporium.’ Initially, Percy and Annabeth are taken in by the smell of something delicious emanating from the place, but Grover seems suspicious.
The shop is a warehouse crammed with sculptures of various figures and postures. The statues display a range of expressions, and their eyes seem to follow the kids.
Slowly, they realize that Aunt Em is the infamous Medusa from the stories. She has snakes for hair and can turn anyone into stone if they look at her.
Percy finally manages to cut her head off using a glass ball, and Annabeth quickly wraps it up so that no one can see it. Monsters can’t be killed permanently, remember?
Finally, they find Hades’s address in Los Angeles- it turns out that Hades is one of Medusa’s customers!
It is where episode 3 will end, and they will continue with the story of Echidna and Chimera in Episode 4, titled ‘I Plunge to My Death.’

In this week’s episode, Percy regains consciousness in the camp’s healing ward after a bombastic fight with the Minotaur. He encounters the sluggish Mr. D and discovers that Mr. Brunner is actually Chiron.
Chiron assigns Percy to the Hermes cabin, where he will stay until his divine parentage is revealed. There, he befriends Luke, the best swordsman in the camp. Clarisse and her cronies try to rag him by dunking his head in the toilet, but Percy unleashes his water powers and drenches them instead.
Meanwhile, Annabeth, a daughter of Athena, invites Percy to join her team for a game of Capture the Flag. The competition commences, and Hermes’ cabin wins it after an incredible stretch of play by Luke.
Thereafter, Poseidon, the God of the sea, claims Percy. He relocates to the Poseidon cabin and learns that Zeus has accused him of stealing his Master Bolt and that war will break out if it is not returned within a week. Percy is given a quest to find the bolt.

Percy Jackson And The Olympians is an upcoming Disney+ show which will follow the events of the book series of the same name by Rick Riordan. The fantasy action series is now in production.
The series will follow each of the five books in the fantasy novel series, covering one book per season. The first season will follow Percy Jackson, who just discovered he is a demigod and son of Poseidon, Greek God of the Sea; Annabeth Chase, the daughter of Athena; and the brave satyr Grover. The first season follows the teens across states as they go on a quest to save Percy’s mother from Hades.
