The Peaky Blinders series finale was released yesterday, and it was explosive (Quite literally!) Everyone had only one question. Will Thomas Shelby survive his enemies? Even if he does, will he survive the tuberculoma disease?
Well, I’ve got you the answers. But, before I give it, know that this article consists of spoilers. So if you haven’t watched the show steer away.
The final moments of Peaky Blinders depicted something ethereal and left me wondering what it meant. We saw Ruby appear before Thomas and tell him to light the fire. As he burns some newspapers to light the fire, he sees something and instantly realizes something crucial.
So what exactly did Thomas realize, and what did the Peaky Blinders ending mean? Let me explain.
Peaky Blinders ending depicts how Thomas never had tuberculoma. Mosley ordered Tommy’s personal doctor to lie about the disease in the hopes that he would kill himself and let them continue the fascism. movement
Here’s a quick recap of the climax. Ruby appears out of nowhere and tells Thomas that he isn’t sick. She asks him to light the fire, and as he does, he looks at the newspaper. It showcased Oswald and Diana’s wedding picture, where the Fuhrer, aka Hitler, was Mosley’s best man.
In the picture, there was one other person – Thomas’ personal doctor, who had been with him for three years. It takes the man with the red right hand a couple of moments for the realization to hit him.
He goes to the doctor’s mansion and points a gun at his head. In a conversation with him, it is revealed that Mosley, Diana, and the fascists had decided to plant false information in Thomas’ mind. He never had tuberculoma. The doctor was also a fascist who hated gypsies. Thomas being one, was no exception.
In essence, everyone manipulated Tommy and made him believe that he was dying. As he said, they knew him too well and knew that he would count his last days and leave everything behind. They knew that they had to let Thomas kill himself.
In fact, Thomas was going to kill himself before Ruby appeared. This changes everything and even sets up the Peaky Blinders film. Now that Thomas knows he’s not going to die, we might see him go after Mosley and Diana.
Creator Steven Knight mentioned that the Peaky Blinders movie would be set in the World War II period, and that’s quite exciting. In reality, Mosley and Diana were involved in World War II and wanted Churchill to support Germany.
However, Churchill imprisoned the two and went to war against Hitler. We still don’t know if the movie would be around this premise, but if it is, we might have a special appearance from Winston Churchill as well.
Well, I’m still hungover the finale and all its sequences. Although it does have a few loose ties, I’m sure the creator will tie them all in the movie.
