Peaky Blinders Season 6 Episode 4 Recap
The episode begins with little Ruby’s funeral after she, unfortunately, succumbs to consumption at the Shelby Sanitorium. She’s given a traditional send-off, cremated in a caravan in Charlie’s Yard. Despite the official cause of death being tuberculosis, Tommy persists that he lost his daughter due to a gypsy’s curse. He ends up breaking his vow of sobriety of nearly four years and shares a drink with Arthur.
Lizzie is furious when she finds out that Tommy shed blood in their late daughter’s name, as he finds the camp he believed the curse originated from and unloads his gun chamber at them. A shocking reveal is made as Esme tells Tommy that he has an illegitimate son who was conceived before he went to war. The meeting with the fascists and Americans takes place, and Tommy is asked to prove himself by doing the Nazi salute.
Tommy furiously documents the details of the meeting, so he can pass on the intel to Churchill. Throughout the episode, he keeps dodging his physician, who kept insisting they speak over an urgent matter. Tommy secures an unlikely spy for himself as he finds out that Gina had been sleeping with Mosley. He tells her to report back to him about the Berling meeting in exchange for his silence.
