I haven’t trusted Gina Gray from day one and she continues to be shady in Peaky Blinders S6. While she sometimes wears her emotions on her sleeve, her motives are often elusive. She tries to convince Michael of her loyalties which he laps up being her pet, but she fails to do the same with the audience.
You know I’m talking about S6 Episode 2 in particular, and that strange prison cell scene. It makes you wonder why exactly did Gina stress upon the trust she and Michael share. Is it because she’s hiding something?
Gina Gray may have married Michael to continue using him as a puppet against Tommy in her uncle Jack Nelson’s schemes. It is possible she will betray him for the same. As of yet, it is unknown if she has been cheating on him.
Here’s how Episode 2 gives us more of a gander into Gina’s motives:

So let’s take in this scene: Gina gallantly walks into the chamber and unlocks Michael’s cell door, reminding him how he’ll be free just within a few weeks. But Michael does the unfortunate, he poses the question, “Why do you travel to London?” and Gina immediately slams the door shut.
(I have a feeling that any independent thinking that Michael does would turn off Gina).
Her demeanor changes after this—taking off her coat, she “presents” herself to him as the only one she’d sleep with. Perhaps she senses the jealousy in Michael’s voice for travelling to the same place where Tommy will be and mingling with him.
Gina convincing Michael about the “trust” they have in their relationship, not only comes across as odd, but also ironically outlines that their bond isn’t as solid as they think it is.
It may also conjure up doubts about Gina’s fidelity. (Remember that speculation of her sleeping with Mosley?) While Gina may or may not be cheating on Michael, her affection towards him is definitely questionable.
So far we’ve only seen her using Michael as a puppet, questionably encouraging his ambition of taking over Shelby enterprises with no real experiences which sadly resulted in him getting cut off from the only family he had.
Now once again in Boston, it seems like Gina and her uncle Jack are the ones running the real scheme, while Michael is duped into thinking he has any real power or plan.
With Tommy in the picture again, it is possible that Gina will use Michael to advance her/Jack Nelson’s goals and I do believe she will end up betraying him/breaking his trust. How exactly? I’ll wait for Gina to come up with something that will surprise us (and shock Michael!)
