Pathfinder System Explained – Progression, Rewards & More – Destiny 2

The Final Shape introduced the Pathfinder to Destiny 2. The new system has replaced Bounties. It is based on the old arrangement of distributing challenges. However, players can access every Pathfinder from their Directory thus cutting down on travel. Check out this guide to know more about the Pathfinder.

How to access the Pathfinder?

You can access the Pathfinder on the Vanguard, Gambit, or Crucible menu.

• Open the map.
• Go to Destinations.
• Select any one– Vanguard, Gambit or Crucible.
• You can see the Pathfinder menu on the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Pathfinder Progression Explained

The Pathfinder has 20 nodes. A node can be unlocked completing the given objectives. While doing so will grant the players XP, the ultimate goal is to unlock the final prize. 

The Pathfinder encourages a strategic game plan. Your motive should be to trace a line to the end by unlocking nodes. Find the most efficient way you can complete challenges and trace a route to the end.

Rewards

Ritual Pathfinders

You will receive the following rewards upon the first completion of the week:

• Prime Engram
• 150x Bright Dust
• Enhancement Prism
• 25000 Challenger XP

Once you obtain the Path Completion Rewards, you can reset the menu. However, it will cause the rewards to reduce.

• After the first reset: XP is reduced by 4000 until the eighth cycle.
• After the eighth run: 80x Bright Dust instead of 150x.

Destination Pathfinders

Completing every objective will grant you 25x Vendor Reputation and 4000 Challenger XP. Here are the rewards for every run:

• After first completion:
  • Exclusive Exotic
  • Tier 3 Engram for Pale Heart gear
  • Vendor Reputation rank-up
  • 25000 Challenger XP
• After second completion:
  • Exclusive Exotic
  • Focusable Pale Heart Engram
  • 375 Vendor Reputation
  • 25000 Challenger XP
• After third completion:
  • Focusable Pale Heart Engram
  • 375 Vendor Reputation
  • 25000 Challenger XP
• After fourth completion:
  • World Legendary Engram
  • 150 Vendor Reputation
  • 4000 Challenger XP

Destination Pathfinders

Destination Pathfinders is a variant of the Pathfinders which can only be unlocked after finishing The Final Shape campaign. While it is the same as Ritual Pathfinders, It can only be completed from the Pale Heart area. The rewards offered upon completion of objectives will also vary.

The Pathfinder resets every week. Your progression will not be carried forward. However, after doing a manual reset, you will be given a unique set of objectives.
