Path of Exile’s ‘Echoes of Atlas’ expansion has caused a stir among fans, with the game experiencing an all-time player high since its launch in 2013.
Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile reached an all-time player high on the release date of the latest update itself. According to SteamDB, Path of Exile had an all-time high of 157,103 simultaneous players on January 15th. The ‘Echoes of Atlas’ expansion sees the game turning into a vast intergalactic war zone.
The new Multiplayer Challenge League seems to be a big player magnet. It lets the players customize their game experience by tweaking points invested in the Atlas multiverse, i.e., it lets players relive past Challenge League mechanics through parallel Path of Exile universes.
The expansion adds more “wildness” to the already wild world of Path of Exile. Those new to the franchise should definitely try the Ritual league content, loot boosts, and experiences that enable new characters to move forward.
The sequel – Path of Exile 2, seems set for a probable 2022 launch; thus, ‘Echoes of Atlas’ probably won’t be the last release for Path of Exile. So, stay put!
About Path of Exile
Developed and published by Grinding Gear Games, Path of Exile is a free-to-play RPG. The game was released for Microsoft Windows in 2013, followed by releases on Xbox One and Playstation 4 in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
Designed by Chris Wilson, the gameplay involves the player controlling and exploring using a single character from an overhead perspective. The player explores large outdoor areas like caves, landscapes, and dungeons fighting monsters and fulfilling quests along their way.
The players can choose from seven classes: Duelist, Marauder, Ranger, Scion, Shadow, Templar, and Witch. Each character type has distinct values for three different attributes: Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. As the character advances and levels up, their skills and skill gems also gain experience and level up.
