As a result, players will have to dig deep into their in-game pockets to unlock Spike Spiegel for Cassidy, Faye Valentine for Ashe, Jet Black for Mauga, and Edward for Sombra skins. Fans of the anime will know that these skins are based on various characters from the Cowboy Bebop anime.
Other cosmetics remain unannounced but are rumored to include emotes and highlight intros. This event will also introduce the anime’s iconic musical tracks to Overwatch 2.

With the previous iteration of anime-based collaboration, developers Blizzard had explained that the cosmetics for the One Punch Man event made sense as the One Punch Man anime exists in the Overwatch universe.
As a result, the event’s skins were simply the characters in-game cosplaying their favorite characters from One Punch Man. Along the same lines, the developers might introduce some form of lore for Cowboy Bebop and the cosmetics.
Fan complaints have decreased slightly after the Season 9 update to Overwatch 2. This update included many balancing changes and increased the size of many heroes’ projectiles, which were adjusted in a subsequent update.
With the complaints about basic gameplay mechanics out of the way, players will enjoy the new collaboration, allowing them to equip their favorite skins from the Cowboy Bebop anime.
About Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The sequel to the 2016 hero shooter Overwatch, the game is intended to have a shared environment for player-versus-player (PvP) modes with the first game while introducing persistent cooperative modes. A major change in PvP was to reduce team sizes from six to five, which required several characters to be reworked.
Overwatch 2 was launched as free-to-play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in early access on October 4, 2022.
