Hiling reunites with an old warrior friend as they care for a bandit hideout in episode 3 of Ousama Ranking: Yuuki no Takarabako titled “Hiling’s Old Friend.”
After being exiled from Bosse’s Kingdom, Hiling is determined to save Daida from his clutches and bring him back to his body. However, she cannot do it alone and meets up with an old warrior friend. Before returning to the Kingdom, they have one more task to complete.
Daida and Bojji’s childhood in the Kingdom was one of happier and simpler times while Bosse was alive. As Hiling tries to teach Daida how to use magic spells, only a time of extreme need can push him to success.

Hiling and Ann’s story is revealed in this episode. Some behind-the-scenes stories about what they went through together before going to Bosse’s Kingdom and fighting Miranjo and the other enemies gathered there.
The next episode will feature more stories not shown in the original season but are scattered here and there, such as glimpses from the journey to the Kingdom of Desha and possibly even the journey back to Bosse; we can only find out the next episode.

3. Recap of Episode 3:
Bosse ordered Dorshe to take Hiling and leave the Kingdom as she dreams of her son Daida being trapped and unable to escape. Waking up in a field with Dorshe, she tries to figure out the situation and wants to return to the castle immediately.
He explains the situation to Hiling as well as Bosse’s words to him, but she does not listen and tries to force her way through. Dorshe says that there is no way she can rescue Daida alone and that he has allies that they can contact.
Approaching the house of a warrior Ann, she has a wholesome reunion with an old friend. She explains the situation to her, but it’s not only her who has problems but also Ann, who is currently trying to protect the village from some bandits, which Hiling immediately offers to help with.
They travel out and decide to wait until daybreak before attacking and taking a rest inside the forest nearby. Dorshe and Ann talk about their situation and drink while reminiscing about Hiling and their adventures with her in the past, pledging to protect her forever.
At the peak of nighttime, they invade the bandit’s cave, take out the guards, bring out the main thieves, and fight them head-on. Ann puts on her armor and fights the giant one-on-one and is overpowered for a moment but rescued by Hiling’s magic spells. Along with Dorshe’s brute strength and their allies, they quickly take out the bandit.
On the verge of death, Ann uses her healing magic to save the bandit’s life. This act of kindness changes the man, who now strives to try and protect the village and help them instead. Daida and Bojji’s life as kids in the Kingdom is now shown in a flashback to simpler times.
As Daida sits around and tries to learn magic, he sees Bojji run along the walls and jump through an opening. He follows him through a hole in the wall and runs through a forest along with Bojji as they come across beautiful fields and have fun playing with rocks.
It starts raining and dark as they try to return to the castle quickly before Hiling gets worried. In an accident, Bojji gets pushed and trips off the cliff, worrying Daida and trying to climb down alone.
He falls off the side of the cliff and plummets to the ground but thankfully wakes up next to an extremely worried Bojji. Bojji’s leg is broken, and he has an excessively bleeding wound, but Daida manages to bring all his focus to it and heals him back to full health before collapsing into exhaustion.

Ōsama Ranking (Ranking of Kings) is a Japanese comedy manga series by Sōsuke Tōka. It has been serialized online via Echoes’ user-submitted Manga Hack website since May 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Wit Studio premiered in October 2021.
The story centers around Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children’s sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world’s greatest king.
However, people mutter about him behind his back as “a good-for-nothing prince” and “no way he can be king.” Bojji is able to make his first-ever friend, Kage, a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well.
The story follows Bojji’s coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.
