Bojji and Kage encounter a forest of magical animals in episode 2 of Ousama Ranking: Yuuki no Takarabako, titled “Beasts of the Wilderness.”

The duo continues their adventures as they travel with the royal knights to their next destination and rest midway through the night. Relaxing in an area known to have wild beasts, they keep an eye out and run into something worse than a beast, but manage to pull through.

The following day they travel through the desert, and a sandstorm envelops them and causes them to be disoriented. The group comes across an oasis in the middle, containing much more than water and trees.

1. Episode 3 Speculation: 

Bojji and Kage continue their journey with the magical beasts after the incident, and whether it is an illusion still lingers in their minds. However, their adventures are far from over, and their subsequent unique encounter will soon be found.

Soon in their adventure, they will encounter Desha and his goons which will likely end poorly for the duo. However, since that was already shown in season 1, we can only expect scenes before or after the encounter.

Episode 3 of Ousama Ranking: The Treasure Chest of Courage will be released on Thursday, April 27, 2023. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Thursday.

3. Recap of Episode 2:

After Bojji’s training under Despa, he ventures into another adventure with all the Royal Knights. While they rest and camp for the night under the fire’s safety, some of them are assigned to keep an eye out for wild beasts.

Bojji sleeps soundly, and Kage also tries to go to sleep but is startled by the shadow of a vast monstrous beast. He runs and wakes up Bojji, alerting him of the wild beast and seeing a group of people walking along the mountain and running to warn them of the beast.

However, the group disappears when they get up to the mountain. Approaching an abandoned house nearby, they search for anyone but just run into a terrified family and a ransacked house, assuming that a wild beast attacked them.

Kage and Bojji introduce themselves but are cut off by a group of bandits coming into the house, but Bojji and Kage misunderstand them for the victims. They taunt them both and try and steal Bojji’s clothes, a grave mistake.

Bojji takes the sword out of his sheath and removes one of the bandits with ease, but the other feigns to forget and takes the kid hostage. However, Kage manages to distract them enough for Bojji to land an attack and clean up the whole place.

Kage and Bojji explain the incident to the guards the following day, praised for capturing an entire band of thieves. As they continue traveling, a massive sandstorm catches them by surprise, and in the middle of it lies a small forest area with various magical animals.

They all have fun with the animals, but everything stops at the approach of one huge beast, stomping through everything in the forest and nearly trampling Bojji. The knights launch all their attacks on it, but it is futile.

Carrying away one of the tiny animals from the giant beast, Bojji has a revelation and realizes he is holding the monster’s child. The attack was just a huge misunderstanding, and the beast walks away in peace after getting its kid back.

But everything is not as simple as it seems. A huge cyclone engulfs them and sucks away all the animals. Instantly later, Bojji and the knights wake up back in the desert, questioning if it was all a mirage. A little animal pops up from the sand, however, proving otherwise.

Ōsama Ranking (Ranking of Kings) is a Japanese comedy manga series by Sōsuke Tōka. It has been serialized online via Echoes’ user-submitted Manga Hack website since May 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Wit Studio premiered in October 2021.

The story centers around Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children’s sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world’s greatest king.

However, people mutter about him behind his back as “a good-for-nothing prince” and “no way he can be king.” Bojji is able to make his first-ever friend, Kage, a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well.

The story follows Bojji’s coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.
