Episode 22 Speculation and Discussion
With the Bosse Kingdom in chaos, new events unfold in Ousama Ranking. I did not expect the episode to take an emotional turn with the plot, and the animation in this episode was stunning.
The duel with Bosse and Bojji proved who is the stronger fighter in the series. How is Bojji planning to save Miranjo and bring order to the kingdom? Even though Miranjo was portrayed as the antagonist, I feel this is just a part of a more significant event with the ranking system.
With two more episodes left in the season, we will know what promises Miranjo broke that caused such events. Will we see Bojji save Miranjo from the demon before the season ends, or will there be an unexpected twist?

Episode 21 Recap
This episode starts with Miranjo feeling the guilt of scheming to keep Bosse by her side by killing Queen Shiina and using Daida. Miranjo knows she cannot go where Bosse goes due to the demon.
King Bosse then proposes to Bojji and the group to swear allegiance to him, or face no mercy. Bojji recalls his past and decides he will fight to get back Daida. The Big Four witnessing Bojji’s determination, say they’re with the prince.
Despa states there’s nothing to worry about since Bojji’s stronger than the four combined. As Despa reveals he’s the one who taught Bojji such swordsmanship, he feels he has failed to be the best teacher to Bojji since Bosse is mightier.
When Bojji faces King Bosse, he visions the actual structure of the mighty king. King Bosse and Bojji get into a fierce duel, with Bosse swinging his club around, trying to hit Bojji. Even though the club is enormous, Bojji breaks the weapon by hitting its weak spots.
With Bosse still trying to fight, Bojji uses the chance to hit his vital spots. Despa watching the fight, knows Bosse will face death if he keeps getting hit. King Bosse feels a mix of emotions recalling his life when he realizes he’s close to the end.
He then apologizes to Miranjo and prepares to take her out in his weakened state. However, Bojji makes his final swing before Bosse can destroy the mirror, defeating him. Miranjo explains in her sorrow to Bojji that only by destroying the mirror will Daida’s curse will get undone.
Considering all the events that lead to the moment, Bojji makes his decision. Before Bojji takes out Miranjo, he tells her he will save her from the demon. With Miranjo taken out, the demon appears to fulfill the deal and devours Miranjo’s soul.
Meanwhile, a ranking committee member is agitated that Desha declines their offer to take down Ouken. Afterward, Miranjo is seen in a different realm where she meets the young demon with whom she broke the promise.
With her grief, she apologies for breaking the promise but finds a horrific sight of a demon repeatedly devouring souls. Petrified by the scene, the younger version of the demon says, “Welcome to an endless world of pain and suffering.”

Ōsama Ranking (Ranking of Kings) is a Japanese comedy manga series by Sōsuke Tōka. It has been serialized online via Echoes’ user-submitted Manga Hack website since May 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Wit Studio premiered in October 2021.
