Bojji, the first prince and heir to the throne, faces the kingdom’s criticism as he is deaf and dumb and lacks any skill. There is more to Bojji that everyone isn’t seeing, and Kage realizes it at the end of episode one.
How will Bojji prove he can be the strongest king in the world? By determination alone, will Bojji gain great friends and allies? I think we are yet to see what this little prince is capable of doing.
The next episode might portray Domas’s life and how he became the king’s best swordsman.
The series is quite enjoyable and is set to give us an emotional journey of the young prince as Bojji develops his path to become the strongest king in his own way.

Episode 1 Recap
Episode one starts with an explanation of what Ranking of King’s is all about and the conditions that determine the ranking of each nation’s king.
Later, Prince Bojji comes across a shadow being and gets mugged, but the being realizes Bojji is deaf and dumb.
The shadow reveals himself as Kage asks Bojji to hand over his clothes. Bojji happily does what Kage says as Bojji finds someone who understands him.
Kage later finds out from Bojji that he is the first prince and is going to be the greatest king in the world. Even though he thinks it’s a joke, Kage mentions he will wait for the day Bojji is the strongest king.
Kage follows Bojji as he heads back to the castle and finds everyone laughing at the prince, for he’s without clothes.
Queen Hilling confronts Bojji about how his behavior affects the kingdom’s reputation and mentions her son is better for the throne than Bojji.
Later Kage sees Bojji cry before he goes to meet his father. Kage then realizes Bojji is holding emotions back even though he’s being teased.
Knowing Bojji’s situation, King Boss talks about how Bojji is the son of the late first queen and adores him.
Boss then tells Domas to train Bojji even more rigorously to get him stronger. Meanwhile, Kage gets in trouble with Bebin, one of the big four but somehow escapes.
While Domas and Bojji are sword training, Domas gets frustrated and attacks dummy targets. Prince Daida appears and asks to spar with Bojji, but Domas mentions he is still in training. Daida then wants to spar with Domas.
Domas accepts, seeing the prince is overconfident to win. The spar sparks Domas’ spirit, and he shows what sword fighting is like and defeats prince Daida. Prince Bojji decides to spar with prince Daida even though he’s in training.
The match starts, and Daida tells Bojji he won’t hold back. Confident he’ll defeat Bojji, Daida attacks. Bojji dodges every attack and lands a soft hit on Daida, which surprises everyone.

Ōsama Ranking (Ranking of Kings) is a Japanese comedy manga series by Sōsuke Tōka. It has been serialized online via Echoes’ user-submitted Manga Hack website since May 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Wit Studio premiered in October 2021.
The story centers around Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children’s sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world’s greatest king.
However, people mutter about him behind his back as “a good-for-nothing prince” and “no way he can be king.” Bojji is able to make his first-ever friend, Kage, a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well.
The story follows Bojji’s coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.
