Otaku Elf Episode 3 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

The temptation of a new unknown dish proves enough to bring Elda out of the shrine in episode 2 of Otaku Elf titled “Let’s Go, Monja Street.”

Elda finds a new obsession in the shrine as a unique collection of Frog toys circulate in the market, and she tries to get all the pieces and struggles to find the older limited edition ones. However, Koma, Koito’s childhood friend, comes to her rescue.

An argument over the city’s favorite food introduces Elda to the new dish known as Monjayaki. However, she must leave the shrine and go to the restaurant to try it.

1. Episode 3 Speculation: 

As each episode progresses, Elda slowly exits her shell and leaves the shrine. She was able to get comfortable with Koyuzu and even lets her in the shrine and talks to her directly now and will soon be able to do that with more visitors.

She even acted disappointed that she couldn’t directly thank Koma, which seems unlikely for her character. Next episode, we will likely see her once again meet up with Koma, but this time will be completely different from her first meeting.

Episode 3 of Otaku Elf will be released on Friday, April 21, 2023. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Friday.

3. Recap of Episode 2:

Elda whispers all her compliments into Miko’s ear as she feels too shy to tell Koyuzu, her sister, directly. However, she quickly gets annoyed and means Elda to tell her instead, and she somehow manages to say to her even though she can’t make eye contact.

She also talks about the past when she was once offered the most delicious offering of rice, and quickly gets excited, and her ears begin twitching, which don’t go unnoticed by Koito.

Koito hangs out with her friend from school as they talk about her job while she gets a spirit message from Elda, giving her particular combo order at the restaurant, WcDonalds. 

Meanwhile, a courier delivery brings more of the limited edition frog collectibles that Elda ordered to get the complete collection. However, her luck is quickly tested and found to be horrible as she gets three of the same bad rolls. 

Her self-control is next to nothing as she orders yet another package, and as she sits in the dumps, she finds Koito, who has come to the shrine along with Koma. She hides behind Koito and gets scared to talk to an extroverted childhood friend, Koma.

She talks about her obsession with collectibles from the Edo period, and now she has come from rare paintings to Frog collectibles. Koma says she might know where to find the toys missing from her collection and suggests that Elda should get them herself.

Seeing her reaction, she decides to get it for Elda herself. Later, Koito brings over both the collectible as well as some tsukudani. The food, however, sparks an argument over the soul food of Tsukishima, but their answers are different, considering how long it has been since Elda has gone outside.

Koyuzu reaches the shrine just in time, overhears their conversation, and plans with Koito to eat monjayaki. However, Elda is quickly concerned about her dinner, which Koito finds as an opportunity to make her go outside to eat with them, and she eventually concedes.

The store owner evacuates all the other customers to let Elda feel more at ease. The monjayaki process is executed with perfection by Koyuzu as they all feast on its delicacy, and Elda is brought to a whole different realm of taste.

4. About Otaku Elf

The Otaku Elf (Edomae Elf) manga by Akihiko Higuchi was launched in Kodansha’s Shounen Magazine Edge in 2019. As of June 2022, it has been collected into six volumes. An anime adaptation for the series is set to arrive in spring 2023.

In the Takamimi Shrine resides an immortal elf who loves games. So, when the new high priestess, Koito, enters the shrine, she realizes that Elda has no interest in blessing people and simply wants to play all day long. The series follows the duo as Koito tries her best to make Elda perform her duties.
