Good news for all the fans of the popular manga and anime series Oshi No Ko: the anime is returning with its highly anticipated season 2. The release date was announced during this year’s Anime Japan Red Stage event.
Updates on the Highly Anticipated Season 2 Of Oshi No Ko
Season 2 of Oshi No Ko has been confirmed to premiere in July 2024. The announcement was officially made during the Red Stage event at Anime Japan 2024, held at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan.
All the event attendees got to see a preview of the second season of Oshi No Ko. There is still no specific date for the July release, but rest assured, we will keep you updated.
New Voice Cast of Season 2 Released
The main reason, apart from the return of the beloved characters, is the new voice cast that will be a part of season 2. Uchiyama Koki, best known for his roles as (Shigaraki from My Hero Academia) and (Tsukishima from Haikyuu!!) will voice Himekawa Taiki. Kobayashi Yuusuke (Senku from Dr. Stone) will voice Kamoshidi Sakuya.
New Trailer
After the much-celebrated new season-adaptation announcement and cast drop of the top-selling manga by Aka Akasaka, the teaser trailer for the upcoming season was also released by HiDive. Watch the trailer here:
The trailer features all the actors in the anime practicing their lines for the play. They are shown with scripts and props in hand, alongside the characters they are voicing. Aqua is also heard making a comment at Akane about losing to Kana towards the end of the teaser.
Key Visuals
Alongside the new trailer preview, the key visual of the new season was also released. The key visual includes the main character cast of the anime series, featuring our protagonists, Aqua and Ruby front and center.
Kana and Akane along with Mem-Cho are also in the picture with Ai’s silhouette that can be seen against the sparkly background.
What To Expect From Oshi No Ko Season 2
The second season of Oshi No Ko will feature the Shibuya Conflict Arc that centers around the Tokyo Blade play featuring Kana as a supporting character and Akane and Aqua play antagonists.
We can anticipate tensions to run high on the set with so many ambitious characters and their dynamics coming into play. In between the rehearsals, Aqua unravels more about the mystery of his mother’s death, leading him to the secrets tied around the Lala Lai Theatrical Company.
About Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko is a supernatural crime-solving manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020 and received an anime adaptation in 2023.
The story follows a doctor, Goro, reincarnated as his favorite idol Ai’s kid. Ai names him Aquamarine and his twin sister, a reincarnation of a patient at the hospital, Ruby. Ai is later killed by a stalker who was also responsible for Goro’s death. As Aquamarine swears revenge on the stalker for his mother’s demise, Ruby follows the same path as her mother to become an idol.
