‘Oshi no Ko,’ is arguably the most talked-about anime of the spring 2023 lineup, has suddenly taken the world by storm, ranking higher than beloved series returning for fresh seasons like Demon Slayer.
Featuring the shocking story of a doctor reborn as his favorite idol’s son, ‘Oshi no Ko’ has evidently charmed with its stunning animation, music, and just the overall dark and twisted plot of the series. Though the first season is over, the last episode had a really exciting announcement.
On Wednesday, the eleventh episode of the television adaptation of the ‘Oshi no Ko’ manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari concluded with the news that production on a second season has been green-lit.
The new promo for the second season shows a recap of the series, including all the main plot points and moments that either made us cry or jump with excitement.
The first visual for season 2 teases what to anticipate from the upcoming season. This season will center on Akane and Arima, who are both dedicated to their acting careers.
Though the main staff and cast for season 2 haven’t been confirmed, I think that they will make a return, but with some new additions to the team.
‘Oshi no Ko’ is one of the most ambitious projects, and it is undeniably a must-watch as it shows the truth behind the entertainment industry with a perfect blend of comedy and a dark story.
About Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko is a supernatural crime-solving manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020 and received an anime adaptation in 2023.
The story follows a doctor, Goro, reincarnated as his favorite idol Ai’s kid. Ai names him Aquamarine and his twin sister, a reincarnation of a patient at the hospital, Ruby. Ai is later killed by a stalker who was also responsible for Goro’s death. As Aquamarine swears revenge on the stalker for his mother’s demise, Ruby follows the same path as her mother to become an idol.
