The staff of the Oshi no Ko anime revealed a teaser trailer, key visual, and cast members during a special program held on December 11. The anime is set to premiere in April 2023 on HIDIVE.
The new key visual was released to commemorate the early screenings of the first episode in Japanese theaters.
The cast for the anime includes Takeo Otsuka as Aquamarine Hoshino, Yurie Igoma as Ruby Hoshino, Kento Ito as Goro, Tomoyo Takayanagi as Sarina, and Yumi Uchiyama as the young Aquamarine.
The anime is being directed by Daisuke Hiramaki, with Saori Tachibana as assistant director. Jin Tanaka is the script supervisor for the series and Kanna Hirayama is the character designer.
The anime is based on the manga series of the same name, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokari. The manga was first released in April 2020 and has been serealized by Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since.
Yen Press has licensed the manga in English. The plot of the manga as described by Yen Press is:
“Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus.

About Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko is a supernatural crime-solving manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020 and received an anime adaptation in 2023.
The story follows a doctor, Goro, reincarnated as his favorite idol Ai’s kid. Ai names him Aquamarine and his twin sister, a reincarnation of a patient at the hospital, Ruby. Ai is later killed by a stalker who was also responsible for Goro’s death. As Aquamarine swears revenge on the stalker for his mother’s demise, Ruby follows the same path as her mother to become an idol.
