Prepare yourselves for a whole new form of art with Opus Colors, an upcoming original anime series by Rin Hinata. Just a few months ago, the major cast and staff were revealed, and now the staff has revealed more details related to the theme song and release date.
Last week, the official website for Opus Colors released its first promo video. The opening song was also revealed, which is “SHINY” by Urashimasakatasen.
The anime will make its TV debut on April 6, 2023, on Tokyo MX and BS11 channels.
While the video gives us a fair glimpse of all the characters, it mainly focuses on the main characters Kazuya Yamanashi, Kyo Takise, and Jun Tsuzuki. Kazuya seems to be fascinated with “Perception Art” and can be seen practicing it as he grows older.
From the setting, it does look like a high-school anime because almost all the characters are wearing a uniform.
In addition to the anime, a drama CD, titled “#FF0000 RED” will also be released on March 24. It will serve as a prequel to the main anime.

C-Station will produce Opus Colors, and the major staff members have previously worked together in STARMYU, the 2015 anime series. Shunsuke Tada is directing the series, with Sayaka Harada working on the scripts. Asami Watanabe is designing the characters.
Urashimasakatasen has also worked at STARMYU. They performed the theme song “SHOW MUST GO ON” for the second season of the series.
The concept of augmented-reality-based perception art is quite intriguing. Anime with art themes have generally gone into depth nicely. It would be great to know more about it, along with what made a childhood friend drift away.
About Opus Colors
Opus Colors is an original anime created by Rin Hinata. It features the concept of Perception Art, a type of digital art that affects a person’s senses of sight, smell, touch, and hearing. The art requires a team of two, an artist and a grader, to create and has developed a lot in ten years.
The story will follow Kazuya Yamanashi, son of famous artists who also founded Perception Art; and Kyo Takise, whose father is a grader and also a founder of Perception Art.
Kyo is Kazuya’s childhood friend but avoids him due to a certain incident while the latter enrolls in Eisen High School, a prestigious art institution to mend the broken bond while aspiring to become a Perception Artist himself.
