The Oprah phenomenon is now officially on Apple TV+!
The void of Super Soul Sundays will soon be filled by Apple TV+ as the streaming network has ordered a new weekly, the Oprah Winfrey talk show and set the debut for this week.
However, the upcoming avatar of Super Soul Sunday will air on various days of the week and not just Sundays.
Titled The Oprah Conversation, the new remotely-shot series led by Winfrey will see “timely and intimate discussions” to be carried out with some of today’s foremost newsmakers and thought leaders.
What’s more, the show will also have audience engagement and will launch Thursday, July 30 at 7 pm/ET. The series will be available for all to stream, for free!
The title of the very first episode will give an idea about the mission of this venture. In the premiere episode, titled “How to Be an Antiracist,” the guest will be Professor Ibram X. Kendi.
Episodes will roll out weekly on varying days. For instance, Episode 2 — featuring Emmanuel Acho, host of the web series Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man — will come out on Friday, August 7.
The Oprah Conversation joins Oprah Talks COVID-19 and Oprah’s Book Club among Apple TV+’s growing stable of Winfrey-branded talk shows.
Winfrey’s long-running, similarly-themed Super Soul Sunday aired its last original episode — its Season 16 finale — in Oct. 2019.
In the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder, Winfrey hosted OWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here?, a two-night special that aired June 10 on OWN and Discovery’s 18 other networks.
