With the COVID-19 coronavirus spreading globally, government authorities are making efforts to slow down this pandemic.
This, in turn, has made many companies halt their work or make their employees work from home until the quarantine is over. The world of anime and manga is no exception.
Many anime and manga have halted production till it is safe for their staff to work from offices again.
Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress for Monkey D. Luffy, recently uploaded a post on her blog announcing that voice recording for the One Piece anime is going on a break. This is under the orders of Toei Animation to preserve the health of their employees.

The anime keeps some pre-recorded voice, which means that the episodes won’t stop airing instantly. However, it is unclear how soon the anime will go on hiatus. Fans of the show on twitter supported this decision heavily.
The voice behind Satoshi (Ash Ketchum), Rica Matsumoto, also tweeted out a similar announcement recently.

“I’ve got no work, so I decided to take a long vacation. I don’t even know what time I should wake up or go to bed. I’m surprised at how bad I am at managing my time. Yesterday I was watching movies, and before I realized it, it was 6 in the morning. It’s like I have jetlag…Gotta snap out of this.”

More information about One Piece’s delay will be posted on the website as soon as it is available. So stay tuned!
About One Piece:
One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997, and has been collected into 95 tankōbon volumes.
The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.”
These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!
Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
