One Piece: Nami and Usopp vs. Page One and Ulti – Which duo will win?

Although Nami and Usopp have been in the weakest trio for a while, fans were hoping it was just Oda’s way of prepping them up for something extraordinary in the latest arc.

However, with Episode 1008’s title being “Nami Surrenders?! Ulti’s Fierce Headbutt!” those hopes were quickly dashed. Even though Nami and Usopp fought as best as they could, they were no match for the mighty sibling duo.

Fortunately, Tama and Komachiyo came to save the day after the Straw Hats sustained heavy damage from Ulti’s skull-splitting headbutts.

However, now that the siblings are out for blood and Tama’s put herself in harm’s way, they have to work double-time to prevent the worse from happening to all of them.

But can they defeat Page One and Ulti in their current state? Will they make it out of this alive?

Usopp and Nami will succeed in defeating the Tobiroppo duo in subsequent episodes, as Chapters 1011, 1012, 1013, and 1016 see them taking down Page One and Ulti with the help of an unlikely ally – Big Mom!

Why does Big Mom fight against the Tobiroppo duo?

Big Mom’s hatred of the Straw Hats has been festering ever since the entire fiasco of the Whole Cake arc. So, why would she fight Page One and Ulti when she has a chance to crush Nami and Usopp?

Since she’s always had the goal of disposing of the three Emperors and claiming the title of ‘Pirate King’, her backstabbing could indicate the start of her real plan to one-up Kaiduo in getting the One Piece.

However, her run-in with the fleeing trio of Nami, Usopp, and Tama revealed the real reason. While she was hostile to the former two, she was delighted to be reunited with the latter.

Although Prometheus chalked it up to her motherly mode for children below the age of 10, she actually considered Tama a friend for taking her to Okobore Town, where the Pirate Emperor was looked after when she was an amnesiac.

But when Tama tearfully explained that Kaiduo’s minions torched the town to the ground when the townsfolk took the blame for the Scabbard’s raid on their food supplies, Big Mom saw red.

Enraged that the callousness and brutality of Kaiduo’s men cost her the town that she was grateful to, she lashed out at the nearest Tobiroppo that she could find – a rampaging Page One.

However, this triggered Ulti, who only made matters worse when she targeted Tama, gaining the ire of Big Mom, who resolved to strike her down.

Who defeats Ulti and Page One in the end?

Chapter 1011 sees Page One KO’d with a single Haoshoku-infused punch from Big Mom. However, Ulti’s take-down spilled over three chapters and required the combined forces of Big Mom and Nami.

Being the fearless and overprotective sister, Ulti charged Big Mom with killing intent after watching her younger brother get punched to the ground.

While the on-looking Beast Pirates advised going against the Pirate Emperor, Ulti’s already triggered short-fuse blocked all sense of reason as avenging her brother was the only thing on her mind.

While it started as a 1v1 between her and Linlin, Ulti made the fatal mistake of bringing Tama into the fray.

After preventing the trio’s second attempt at escape by headbutting Komachiyo, she slapped the girlwhen she was annoyed by her pleas to stop hurting the komainu.

Seeing Tama’s mistreatment, Big Mom and Nami turned their fury towards her. Even though Nami let out a barrage of attacks, the Tobiroppo’s agility and impervious skin of her Zoan form countered all of them.

But as she was preoccupied with the Cat Burglar, Big Mom and her Homies unleashed their most deadly combo – the Maser Ho, which pierced right through her and seemingly took her out.

However, she was back again when the trio had reached the stage of Marys. Suddenly launching a surprise attack, she headbutted Usopp and then strangled Tama, blaming her for turning Big Mom against the Beast Pirates.

Fortunately for Nami, Zeus’s soul managed to fuse with her Clima-Tact after his sacrifice prevented Big Mom from killing them when Ulti was temporarily out of the picture.

After the Homie revealed that Ulti couldn’t stand another lightning bolt because of her severe internal damage, Usopp separated Tama from the Tobiroppo by unleashing his special Sargasso attack that entangled her with seaweeds.

After getting a clear shot, Nami dealt the final blow – a maneuverable lightning blast that Zeus directed to strike Ulti, finally bringing her down.
