One Piece Manga Teases Gol D. Roger’s Intro In Wano Arc

Gol D. Roger, The Pirate King, was the person who started off the age of pirates with his dying words. These words inspired people worldwide and many people took to the seas in search of his grand treasure: The One Piece.

This story was introduced to the One Piece anime fans in the first manga and 964 chapters have passed without much information being divulged about the legend who started it all. Until Now. According to the most recent addition to the series, that is set to change.

Chapter 964, titled “Oden’s Adventure”, teases the meeting of Oden with The Pirate King. The events of the chapter show us the curious nature of Gol D. Roger as he says he’s like to meet the Samurai Oden.

The storyline of One Piece is currently exploring a flashback of Oden, The Daimyo of Wano. Oden has not yet become the shogun of the country, and the flashback takes us through the adventures of Oden. At the end of the chapter Oden meets up with the Whitebeard crew and effectively becomes a new crew member of the Whitebeard Fleet. Hearing this, Roger shows interest to meet Oden, even though it annoys Shanks.

“Yet another article about Whitebeard when we’re raising all the ruckus over here!! It says they’ve got a new samurai from Wano and he’s a real wild man,” Buggy tells Roger as he reads from a newspaper.

“A samurai from a closed-off nation!! I’d like to meet this fellow,” Roger replies.

One Piece’s earlier story line already revealed that Oden and Roger end up becoming really good friends, and fans are excited to see how it finally happens. Knowing Oda, the creator of the series, it’s definitely going to be a great read.
