While manga hiatuses are not uncommon, One-Piece fans will be saddened to learn that Eiichiro Oda’s biggest series will be the next to go on a break just when the story has reached a breathtaking climax.
It will be some time before the next chapter becomes available due to the creator’s medical issues. This hiatus, though, should serve as healing time for Oda.
Eiichiro Oda is undergoing a surgery for astigmatism, the manga will take a break from June 19 to July 10. This was announced on the manga’s official website. On July 18, the manga’s 33rd issue will be released.
Oda has reportedly decided to have his severe astigmatism corrected because it affects his work quality. He asked about taking time off with his editor, and Shueisha approved.
When One Piece went on its final extended hiatus in June 2022, the show returned as planned, and Shueisha gave fans extra material to keep them entertained with the Road To Laugh Tale specials, which were an absolute treasure trove of information.
Even if no additional content is available this time, this is an excellent opportunity to catch up on or re-read the current arc before the series returns. While it is unfortunate that the series will be put on hold for a short period, Eiichiro Oda’s health is the priority.
