The chapter starts with a flashback that happened 26 years ago. It visualizes the greenery of forests and palms surrounding the Punk Hazard Facility. Two people can be seen talking at the Punk Hazard’s entrance- Vegapunk (with 2 dragons) and Clover.

Clover is seen begging Vegapunk to help him with his “Void Century” research, saying he wants knowledge from other fields. Vegapunk refuses to help him, stating that he is now a government man. Vegapunk reminds him of the number of times Clover has been arrested. He adds that Clover is able to roam freely because he has eyes following him to the den to capture his friends.

Clove recollects that once, a man who had ‘D’ in his name was killed before his eyes. The man was actually his brother, but he had to lie in order to save himself. Vegapunk is shocked to hear this information. Clover reveals that his original name is Claiomh D.Clover. A small panel of his brother’s death is also illustrated. Clover lies that he was a friend of that man to save himself.

Clover continues emotionally. He questions whether people in this world deserve to be killed just by being born or stating their names. Even though this revelation moves Vegapunk, he informs Clover that he will not help him and will forget the things Clover said. Vegapunk proceeds to walk inside the Punk Hazard. Clover can be seen shouting that he will solve this, and he can hear a voice coming from the past.

Flashback to 22 Years ago

The manga proceeds to show another flashback, which happened 22 years ago when Vegapunk and Caesar received news that the Buster call destroyed Ohara. Even though Caesar says he wants to witness the massacre himself, Vegapunk is sad.

Vegapunk visits Ohara (this takes place before the flashback in chapter 1066), and he can be seen crying in front of the Ohara lake, looking at a wanted notice of kid Nico Robin. He mourns, saying they all died just to save a pile of books. He continues, saying they were foolish to risk their lives to carry on their research.

Time Skip to Present

Vegapunk’s broadcast continues, and Zeff and Patty can be seen listening to it in the Baratie. We can also see Tequila wolf, where the guards are whipping the prisoners.

In Egghead, Robin gets emotional listening to Vegapunk’s message. The broadcast goes on to say that the winners write the history, and the voices of losers are buried deep down the sea. It continues by saying that he had been able to determine some truths that he relayed to the world, and he prays his message reaches safely.

Nusjuro

Zoro and Jinbe are on the Thousand Sunny, while Nusjuro, who was blown away, is coming back. Meanwhile, Lilith stops the Straw Hat crew from taking off, saying they won’t be able to reach the sea if Nasjuro appears midair and gets in their way.

Suddenly, Atlas appears and punches Lilith, dropping her unconscious on the floor. She turns off a device on Lilith’s head, which makes a ‘click’ sound. This sound doesn’t go unnoticed by York, who reports that they lost Lilith’s signal, and only Atlas remains. Atlas talks to Nami and others and asks them to take care of Lilith. She tells them that she will eliminate all obstacles.

Nusjuro is seen running back towards the Thousand Sunny, but Atlas flies and grabs him. Even though Nusjuro slices off one of Atlas’s arms, she doesn’t loosen her grasp. She uses her “DOM shoes” and jet pack to move Nusjuro out of the way. The Thousand Sunny takes off using the “Coup de Burst.”

Meanwhile, in Egghead Shore

We can see Luffy, very excited to see a robot as Emeth talks to him. Emeth tells him that he is happy to work for him again. Luffy gets confused and looks around to find the person talking to him. Emeth tells him that he is the one talking to him and he considers Luffy’s enemies as his own. Luffy is amazed to see a talking robot.

Emeth says that Luffy is in danger and that he will protect him. Dorry orders his crew to prepare to sail. Brogy asks Luffy whether Emeth is one of them, to which he replies with the conversation he just had. Brogy is amazed because he didn’t hear anything.

Later, Ju Peter charges at Emeth, but having an old body, Emeth fails to defend. This disappoints Luffy, Sanji, and Franky. The fight continues, resulting in one of Emeth’s arms getting eaten. However, Emeth holds Ju Peter back. Saturn jumps from Ju Peter to Elbaf ship. Saturn looks back at Kuma and Bonney.

The Thousand Sunny can be seen flying in the sky, which Sanji notices from the Elbaf ship. Meanwhile, Nusjuro slashes Atlas. Nusjuro tells Atlas that he didn’t expect her to sacrifice herself. To this, she replied that she would rather call this a “service”. Atlas blows herself up, damaging Nusjuro’s half-face.

The final double page of the manga shows different scenes as Vegapunk’s message continues. The message says how he liked to have more time for his research, but some already cannot be stopped. He mentions pirate Gol D Roger and his crew, who circled the entire world. The Thousand Sunny nears the sea, close to Elbaf ship. Usopp and Chopper are crying for Atlas, saying she couldn’t just do that.

The Right Time

Meanwhile, York reports to the Five Elders that Atlas’s signal has disappeared. York says that she is the only Dr. Vegapunk now. Ju Peter disagrees, and Saturn talks about Stella, who can’t stop yapping, to which Ju Peter agrees. Warcury says that they will put an end to it.

Ju Peter and Warcury attack Emeth to stop the broadcast. Smoke arises from Emeth’s broken arm. Emeth says she is rotten and realizes this is the “right time”, addressing Joy Boy.

Towards the last of the manga, Vegapunk’s broadcast goes on. He says that everyone has heard the unaltered voice of the past. It continues as he says that all have realized it, and this is what happens in the world’s future. The final panel shows Impel Down and the surprised prisoners who listened to the broadcast. They are stunned to hear the name Gol D.
