One Piece recently aired the 1000th episode, and the series is celebrating the achievement in style. What better way to commemorate a long-standing anime series than a movie announcement?
Although the franchise is full of mysteries and intriguing characters, this time, the spotlight is likely to fall on a particularly baffling character, Shanks.
The One Piece franchise has announced a new anime movie, One Piece Film Red. The film is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on August 6, 2021.
A new trailer for the film has been revealed:
The trailer starts by showing music notes and contains the dialogue, “Will her songs bring forth eternal happiness or endless imprisonment?
It looks like we will be introduced to an original character in the film. The new trailer also sports the same mysterious girl who is obviously going to play a significant role in the upcoming movie.
So why is everyone assuming that Shanks will be present in the movie? Simple, he is the chief of the Red Hair Pirates, and the movie’s theme indicates that he might be present in it.
If Shank’s past is brought to light, then I hope we get to see his battle against Blackbeard. The things we are yet to know about Shanks are simply innumerable.
Eiichiro Oda is himself making the character design of the mysterious woman who is teased in the visual. Staff members of the film include:

The celebration doesn’t end here as One Piece has also released a 17-minute clip that shows one second from every episode that has been aired so far.
Another video shows a reprised version of the “We Are” opening theme. This is the first OP of the anime and holds a special place in the hearts of all One Piece fans.
The compilation video was really nostalgic as it summarized Luffy and his crew’s journey, but at the same time, it reminded me that there’s still a long way to go before our journey with Oda ends.
