One Piece Episode 988: Release Date, Speculation, And Watch Online

One Piece Episode 987, titled “His Dream Broken?! The Trap That Lures Sanji!” aired this week.

So far, Luffy and Zoro revealed their identity by creating a scene and resorted to running away since they did not want to ruin Kin’emon’s plan.

Scratchmen Apoo used his abilities to inflict damage on them. Kid decided to intervene as he held a grudge against Apoo.

Kid attacked Apoo relentlessly, but Apoo put up a fair fight. Queen ordered his men to kill Luffy and the others. Kid was put in an unfavorable position and was in danger when Luffy arrived and watched his back.

They then fled together as they had to save their energy for Kaido.

Episode 988 Speculations and Discussions

One Piece Episode 988 is titled “Reinforcements Arrive! The Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates!”

The plot armor is not so strong as to let Luffy and his allies easily win against the combined strength of two emperors of the sea and their crew.

I’m sure Marco will make his appearance and keep Big Mom’s crew at bay, not letting them into Onigashima because if they do make it, the battle will significantly favor Kaido and Big Mom.

I cannot wait for Luffy to reunite with Marco. This will be the first time they will meet each other after Marineford. We can expect lots of pent up emotions regarding Ace to resurface.

No, One Piece is not on break this week. Episode 988 is set to air as scheduled. No delay has been announced.

Recap of Episode 987

Episode 987, titled “His Dream Broken?! The Trap That Lures Sanji!” starts with Kid shocking everyone by revealing his disguise after attacking Apoo.

He continues to batter Apoo, but Apoo does not give in and puts up a fair fight. Apoo mentions how Pirate Alliance never works out, and no matter what, no one can stand up to the emperors of the sea. 

Luffy, Zoro, Kid, and his crew are quite lively by now. Queen has granted everyone who captures them a position in the Tobi Roppo. 

Since they are not easy opponents, he allows them even to kill Luffy and the others. One of the Numbers, Haccha, appears who has the build of a giant.

He goes on a rampage attacking Kid and Killer and even his own comrades. Kid faces him on his own and puts his guard down as he is focused on the enemy in front of him.

While Kid fights Haccha, one of Kaido’s men aims at Kid’s head to eliminate him, but Luffy makes it in time and prevents that from happening. 

Luffy, Zoro, and Kid are fleeing together, with Killer following them. Each of them accuses the other of creating a ruckus. 

Apoo uses this chance to attack them, and it is effective on the three. Killer then tells them to cover their ears as Apoo’s attacks are ineffective if you cannot hear them.   

Meanwhile, everyone else from the Samurai alliance is making their move in their respective locations. Sanji gets lured into a Pleasure House but comes out disappointed.

The episode ends with Apoo belittling Killer, making Kaido’s men laugh at him. Kid does not tolerate this disrespect and attacks everyone.
