One Piece Episode 978: Release Date, Speculation, And Watch Online

One Piece Episode 977, titled “The Sea Is For Pirates! Raid! To Onigashima!” aired this week.

Last, we saw Denjiro had undergone a physical transformation out of rage, making him unrecognizable to anyone. Orochi mentioned the origins of his faithful spy to Kaido. Oden’s flashback came to an end.

In episode 977, Kin’emon’s plan is once again leaked. The Akazaya Nine expressed their views on having a traitor among them, which they chose to ignore in the past.

1. Episode 978 Speculations and Discussions

One Piece Episode 978 is titled “The Worst Generation Charges In! The Battle of the Stormy Sea!”

Concerning the preview at the end of episode 977, we can expect Kin’emon and the others to get their hopes back up after seeing Luffy and the others make their appearance.

We shall see Luffy, Kid, and Law fight over who can cause the most damage to Kaido’s fleet, inevitably destroying it one way or the other.

We can also expect to see Kanjuro kidnap Momonosuke and take him to Kaido during all this chaos.

2. Episode 978 Release Date

Episode 978 of the One Piece anime, titled “The Worst Generation Charges In! The Battle of the Stormy Sea!”, has been released on Sunday, Jun 13, 2021.

I. Is One Piece on Break This Week?

No, One Piece is not on break this week. Episode 978 is set to air as scheduled. No delay has been announced.

3. Recap of Episode 977

Episode 977, titled “The Sea Is For Pirates! Raid! To Onigashima!” starts off with the end of Oden’s flashback and back to the present day.

Momonosuke and Kin’emon, along with the rest of the Akazaya Nine, are stranded all alone at Port Tokage with no sight of any of their allies. 

Kin’emon and the others are filled with despair, shocked by the absence of their allies. Kin’emon uses the transponder snail and cries out to Luffy and the other allies, but the effort is futile. 

The Akazaya Nine decide to go to Onigashima on a little boat regardless of whether their allies will join them. Momonosuke tries to stop them, but they have made up their mind.

Momonsuke is left behind with Shinobu while Kin’emon and the others proceed to go towards Onigashima. As they were rowing, Kiku cannot help but express his discontent.

Kiku calls everyone out for their plan being leaked once again. Same as twenty years back on the day Oden and the Akazaya Nine decided to attack Kaido. 

Kin’emon and the others also finally openly express the presence of a traitor among them. Even Kin’emon always knew this from the start, but he chose not to do anything about it to prevent any infighting.

Kanjuro pleads Kin’emon to call out the traitor and immediately cut him off before he could cause any more damage. However, this is just an act.

He ends up revealing himself to be Orochi’s spy, mocking them and betraying them in the worst possible way.  

Kanjuro reveals himself to be of the Kurozumi bloodline. Enraged, Kin’emon slashes him, but to everyone’s surprise, it is just a clone painted using Kanjuro’s Devil Fruit powers.

Kanjuro sneaks up behind Shinobu and restrains her with another painting. He then proceeds to capture Momonosuke and mentions that he is going to present him to Orochi. 

The episode ends with a part of Kaido’s fleet appearing before Kin’emon and the others ready to take them down. However, Luffy, Kid, and Law make it in time and emerge from each side to turn the tables on them.
