One Piece Episode 975, titled “The Castle on Fire! The Fate of the Kozuki Clan!” has been aired this week.

So far, we have witnessed the execution of the true protector of Wano, Kozuki Oden. The people of Wano regret losing faith in Oden and mocking him. With his last breath, Oden lets his retainers escape before being killed by Kaido.

In episode 975, the land of Wano is in total chaos. Orochi’s men are attacking the retainers of Oden and targeting his family.

One Piece Episode 976 is titled “Back to the Present Day! 20 Years Later!”

Struck with grief and rage, Denjiro will undergo a physical transformation making him unrecognizable.

Episode 975 marked the end of Oden’s flashback, and we will now officially return to the current timeline.

The next episode is going to be the starting act of the long-awaited battle against Kaido. We can be sure to see Luffy come to Kin’emon’s rescue.

3. Recap of Episode 975

Episode 975, titled “The Castle on Fire! The Fate of the Kozuki Clan!” starts off with the people of Wano regretting ever mocking Oden and not believing in him. 

Enraged at the fact that people sympathize with Oden, Orochi tells his soldiers to open fire on the people. He also orders them to chase the Akazaya Nine and eliminate Oden’s family. 

Orochi’s soldiers are chasing the Akazaya Nine. As they are escaping, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi get into a fight.

Nekomamushi suggests fighting the soldiers and avenging Oden’s death. On the contrary, Inuarashi suggests protecting Oden’s family by taking them to Zou.

Kin’emon decides to protect the Kozuki bloodline by going to Zou. However, the soldiers catch up to them. Ashura and Denjiro hold the soldiers off, letting Kin’emon and the others escape. 

The news of Oden’s death reaches Toki. Oden has entrusted Toki with a particular task that she has to carry out if he dies.

Before the remaining Akazaya Nine could reach the castle, Kaido reaches the castle and breaks into Toki’s room.

He attacks her and goes on to capture Momonosuke. After gauging that Momonosuke is not half the man his father, Kozuki Oden, is, he leaves the castle expecting Momonosuke to burn with it.

When Kin’emon and the others reach the castle, Toki sends Momonosuke with Kin’emon and the others 20 years in the future. This is the crucial task that was entrusted to her by Oden. She leaves Hiyori under the care of Kawamatsu.

The episode ends with Toki prophesying the doom of Orochi and Kaido and the rebellion of the Kozuki clan that is to happen 20 years in the future.
