Black Maria traps Robin and Brook in an illusion in episode 1042, titled “The Predator’s Trap- Black Maria’s Temptation!”

The episode was all about Robin. Not much happened in the episode, as the entire second half focused on a backstory we already know. However, seeing Robin’s sad past again was a little emotional.

Everyone continues with their respective battles. Yamato is putting up a good fight against Kaido. We got no Luffy in this episode, but we all know we might be eating all of the Heart Pirates’ meat.

Episode 1043 Speculations

It’s time for Brook to get trapped into his past in episode 1043, titled “Slash the Nightmare- Brook Draws His Freezing Sword.”

Well, Robin wasn’t the only one who got trapped by Black Maria. From what we saw in the preview, it looks like Brook’s illusion may be worse than Robin’s, as he might have to share blows with his old friends.

Robin will save him from the dream. However, seeing that two entire episodes have gone in just adapting something which could have taken not more than one episode is quite frustrating.

Episode 1042 Recap

Franky and Sasaki continue their fight. Before he can end him with a victory slash, Sasaki stands up again, and the two start to fight.

Franky tries finishing Sasaki off with General Canon, but it doesn’t work. After an intense struggle, he blasts Sasaki away with a radical beam. Kaido is shocked that a mythical fruit like Dog-Dog fruit was eaten by someone who calls herself Oden (talking about Yamato here).

Brook and Robin are trapped in some kind of fog when Robin sees her mother, Olivia, in front of her. Clover and Saul also appear before her. She is reminded of the time she spent with Saul.

We get a recap of all that happened to her and what led to the death of her mother, Saul, and Clover. Before dying, Saul tells her to set sail as she will soon find friends she can trust.

Robin already knows it is all an illusion. She uses tres mano to strike all the imposters down. She remembers how her mother told her to live and the last hug from her mom.

Now she has friends by her side. Thus, she will live alongside her friends. Black Maria’s illusion fails miserably.

The Heart Pirates have tried everything, but Luffy still doesn’t wake up. After a while, finally, Luffy wakes up demanding meat.
