While some people might have forgotten about her, O-Tama still has a big role to play in the upcoming war.
Her devil fruit allows her to have complete control over animals and Zoan devil fruit users who eat “Kibi Dango” made from her cheeks.
It is more than likely that she was the looming figure behind Robin and Jinbei in chapter 979.
III. Big Mom’s Return
Wano’s matchups are turning out to be even messier than the matchups in Marineford. With so many insanely strong characters gathered in one place, we are bound to witness chaos.
Chapter 988 ended with Franky ramming his Kurosai motorbike into Big Mom’s face. The very next chapter, the duo of Robin & Jinbei sent Big Mom rolling out of the battle area.
Big Mom is not one to be kicked out of the fight so easily, she will return soon and will be a force to be reckoned with.

Chapter 995, titled “A Kunoichi’s Oath,” starts with Marco and Big Mom clashing at the entrance to Onigashima. Big Mom knows how dangerous Marco can be and wanted to take him out before he becomes a bigger problem.
Along with Perospero, she attempts to take him down, but their plan is foiled by the epic entry of Wanda and Carrot in their beautiful Sulong forms.
Carrot and Wanda take on the fight against Perospero. Big Mom gets annoyed that she isn’t on the frontlines of this war and leaves all of them alone to rush to the Skull Dome.
Back at the Performance Floor, everyone is chasing after Apoo with bloodlust. Zoro and X-Drake try to tag team him, but he manages to slip away from their attacks.
While Chopper is figuring out how to beat this plague, he himself gets infected. This essentially puts a timer for Zoro to get the antidote before Chopper fully turns into an Ice Demon.
The scene cuts to the Usopp and Nami vs Ulti and Page One fight. Usopp tries his best to hold them back but they’re just too strong. Ulti keeps using her Head Butt Canon and takes down Nami with relative ease.
Before another attack, Ulti asks her Nami to admit that Luffy will never be the Pirate King… (huge mistake)
This leads to a chill inducing scene where Nami does not give in and admits that Luffy will be the person who will rule over the seas – the Pirate King.
The chapter ends as O-Tama makes an epic entrance to save Nami from the jaws of death with the help of Komachiyo.
With Tama in the heart of the war, it is possible her devil fruit will be used to manipulate a large number of Kaido’s forces.
