One Piece released chapter 978 on Sunday, titled “Introducing The Tobi Roppo.” So, it’s time to discuss the release date, scans, and other details for chapter 979.

One Piece Chapter 979 will release on Sunday, May 10. The title for the upcoming chapter has not yet been released.

In the next chapter, we will be shown the rebellion army trying to blend into the party as well as the conversation between Kaido and the Tobi Roppo.

One Piece chapter 979 raw scans were released recently. The upcoming chapter will show the meeting between the Tobi Roppo, Kaido, King, and Big Mom.

The purpose of this meeting is to demonstrate the strength of the Tobi Roppo to Big Mom. Kaido says that if any of them defeat an All-Star, they can claim the All-Star’s ranking.

We are also shown the infiltration of Kaido’s mansion by the Strawhats and the Kidd pirates. Kanjuro finally arrives in Onigashima, however, he is lost as this is the first time he has come to visit this island himself.

The scans also show some animosity between King, Whos Who and Sasaki as King feels that they do not respect his authority.

4. Chapter 979 Speculations/Predictions

Chapter 978 ended with the Tobi Roppo deciphering that the help Kaido needs is regarding family issues.

I. Kaido’s Family

The way the Tobi Roppo talk, it seems as though they are the ones called upon every time Kaido has something in his family he needs to be fixed.

In this case, given the speculation about Kaido’s son being a big disappointment, it looks like the Tobi Roppo will be asked to somehow help build his image in front of Big Mom.

Big Mom and Kaido recently formed an alliance, and Kaido would hate it if she considered his family weak.

The chapter may also show us Law successfully using his Ope Ope no Mi to transport the Akazaya Nine to the back entrance of Onigashima. Given the enormous size of the island, this arc is probably going to be pretty big. Buckle Up!

The chapter starts with the rebellion army finally landing on Onigashima. Law, along with his crew and some members of the Akazaya Nine, goes around the island to make a sneak entry at its back. 

Upon reaching Onigashima, we are shown a BEAUTIFUL double-page spread showing the entrance to the party happening at Onigashima. Usopp quickly takes out the guards with some anesthetic shot and puts them to sleep.

After landing, Wano’s samurai sink all of their ships, showing their immense revolve — to win or to die. To disguise their army, Kanjuro uses his devil fruit and dresses everyone in the attire of Kaido’s soldiers.

We are then shown the inside of the party, with DJ Apoo and MC Queen setting the vibe and riling up the crowd. Everyone seems to be having a great time. After a quick roll call of Kaido’s forces and Big Mom’s children, the scene shifts to the highlight of the chapter — the Tobi Roppo.

7. Chapter 978 Cover Page

Apart from the main storyline in the manga chapters, One Piece also advances the storyline by featuring scenes around the world in the form of cover stories.

Chapter 978’s cover continues the Gang Bege’s OH MY FAMILY cover story and shows Lola’s crew thanking Capone Bege for saving their captain.

This probably implies that the next time we see the Firetank pirates, they will have merged with the Rolling pirates (Lola’s crew).
