The chapter starts with a brief nostalgic moment of Oden’s interactions with his family and quickly switches over to the events that happened right after Oden’s public execution. We see the details of a lot of moments that were previously mentioned in the story such as :
- Nekomamushi and Inuarashi’s quarrel which lead to them being captured
- Kaido telling Momonosuke that his father is a fool of a lord
- Lady Toki using her powers to send Kinnemon, Kanjuro and Momonosuke to the future
- Oden’s castle burning down
Denjiro, possessed by the demon of anger, undergoes facial changes that make him unrecognizable. He takes on the name Kyoshiro and seduces Orochi with women, money, and power to land a job in the heart of Orochi’s operation.
After Lady Toki sends the trio to the future, Kawamatsu jumps into a river with Hiyori to protect her from the fires. He takes care of her as long as he could.
Still, they eventually get separated, and Hiyori makes her way to Orochi’s castle, where Denjiro is now disguised as Kyoshiro and tells her the truth about his identity. He then asks her not to reveal his identity to even her allies before the battle begins.
