Zoro’s dream since he met Kunia has been to become the world’s greatest swordsman, and with his unique Santoryuu (Three Swords) sword style, he has been making exponential progress.
After Shusui was stolen from Zoro, Zoro upgraded to the legendary sword Enma, a Ō Wazamono grade sword, which is the only one to have ever wound Kaido.
Chapter 969 briefly showed the five years Oden spent in Wano after his return and before his public execution. During the chapter, the theft of Ryuma’s grave was shown to take place right after the Gekko Pirates lost to the Beast pirates.
During the Thriller Bark arc, Zoro fought Ryuma’s body revived with Brook’s shadow. He won the battle, and Ryuma passed on his sword, Shusui, to him. Unaware of the passing of the sword, Onimaru stole Zoro’s sword in Wano and returned it to Ryuma’s grave. This chapter addressed the timeline where the sword was initially taken from the grave, completing the story.
Zoro’s currently carries Wado Ichimonji (Passed down from Kuina), Sandai Kitetsu (Obtained from Loguetown) and Enma (Passed down from Kozuki Hiyori). Sandai Kitetsu is the only one of these swords, which is not of the Ō Wazamono grade. Wado Ichimonji is currently the only one that is not a black blade. However, if Zoro masters advanced armament in the future, his skill will upgrade this sword as well.
About One Piece:
The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece.
Thus began a new age! Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this is one memorable adventure.
