As fans eagerly await each new chapter of One Piece, the latest leaks show a massive development in the story.
Luffy, Zoro, Lucci, and Kaku are confirmed to be teaming up, and Vegapunk is in for a surprise as he finds himself locked up in prison, wondering how his research papers were leaked to the world government. But the most thrilling prospect is the possibility of an epic battle between Kid and Shanks.
Chapter 1076 is titled ‘Old Friends,’ and it might be the best chapter of Egghead so far. Shanks is in Elbaf with the giants Dorry and Brogy from Little Garden, and it looks like the next big battle will be between Kid and Shanks.
It feels like we’re getting closer to a sort of final elimination for the One Piece, especially since we just saw Blackbeard fighting against Law in a previous chapter.
Kid vs. Shanks: Will We Finally Get to See Shanks Fight?
Based on what we’ve seen of Blackbeard and Law’s fight, some people speculate that we may also see Shanks fighting in the next chapter. Fans are freaking out because the panels and the pattern of how they showed Blackbeard and Law’s fight are so similar.
Oda structured chapter 1076 in a way that parallels the Law and Blackbeard fight. It starts with half Egghead, and then we see Kid and Shanks. Even the ending panel looks the same. We might finally see Shanks fight for the first time ever in the manga!
Shanks gave Kid two options. The first option was to fight him right then and there, while the second option was to hand over his poneglyphs and leave in peace.
This was different from what Blackbeard offered Law when they fought. But we know Kid well by now, and it will be no surprise if he chooses to fight.
Kid lost an arm the last time, but he could be feeling ready to take Shanks down now. He’s confident in his abilities, but let’s face it, the guy’s a bit of a wild card. He is still basking in the glory of having beaten Big Mom.
Does Kid Stand a Chance Against Shanks?
It’s crazy how much Kid has grown since we first saw him after the time skip.
Kid got whooped by Kaido and landed in Udon prison, but then he took down Big Mom with Law in the same Arc! That’s some serious progress, and even though he’s expected to lose against Shanks, I think he’ll put up a decent fight.
Who knows if Shanks will go all out against him? This battle will be way better than the last time Kid fought the Red Haired Fleet.
But it’s not just Shanks and his crew Kid is up against this time; there’s a whole fleet and even the Giants. Regardless of who wins, I have faith that Oda will do justice to this fight, and we’ll finally witness Shanks in combat.
Dorry and Brogy are Back!
Remember when we first met Dorry and Brogy, and people started theorizing about the link between Shanks, Elbaf, and the Vikings?
Chapter 1076 reveals that Dorry and Brogy are great pals with Shanks. It’s impressive how Oda has been foreshadowing this all along!
Fans picked up on it early, but seeing how Oda brings everything together is still fantastic. Even characters like Dorry and Brogy from Chapter 70 are still relevant in the world of One Piece.
