The One Piece hiatus is almost up! Chapter 1054 spoilers are out, and I think I understand now why Oda needed this break for the final arc of Wano.
The leaks have revealed some unbelievably exciting news, and I know I say this a lot, but this might be one of the most hype chapters we’ve seen thus far.
I mean, it literally has One Piece’s biggest tease, Shanks, finally entering the scene, saying, “It’s time to go for the One Piece.” That’s basically Oda telling us to buckle up, because shit’s going to get crazy.
Chapter 1054 will reveal the Reverie incident, the Red Hair Pirates’ arrival, an off-screen death, and much more. Here is everything we know from the leaks and additional spoilers for One Piece chapter 1054!
1. “Emperor of Flames”
The title of chapter 1054 is Entei, which means Emperor of Flames. It is also the name of Ace’s ultimate Devil Fruit combat technique, Dai Enkai: Entei, meaning Great Flame Commandment: Emperor of Flames.
He used it against Blackbeard, where Ace’s flames collide with Blackbeard’s darkness, a huge symbolic motif, carried forward through brotherhood and Devil Fruit.
Sabo carries on the will of Ace by consuming his Mera Mera no Mi. The new chapter title refers to Sabo; yes, Sabo is returning in chapter 1054!
2. 4 Emperors on the Cover
The color spread for chapter 1054 features the new Yonkos: Luffy, Buggy, Shanks, and Blackbeard.
3. Ryokugyu’s DF Revealed
Chapter 1053 showed us that admiral Ryokugyu had entered Wano. In an attempt to impress his fleet admiral Akainu, Ryokugyu takes it upon himself to get his Luffy’s head. In the process, he casually sucks the energy from King and Queen with the help of his branches/roots, wringing them dry.
According to the chapter 1054 leaks, Ryokugyu/Aramki/Greenbull has the Logia-type Mori Mori no Mi – the Forest Forest Devil Fruit.
We were expecting Ryokugyu to have a Mythical Zoan, since Kizaru already has a Logia, and Fujitora has a Paramecia. But we also know that the Government can change the names of potentially overpowered fruits like they did with Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.
Still, I hope that his Government tactic is limited to Luffy and his Fruit. Seeing how Mythical Zoans are so rare, I’d be happy if Ryokugyu stays with Logia and not Zoan.
4. Yamato Joins Straw Hats
Looks like Luffy has officially accepted Yamato into his crew. She also punches Ryokugyu in the head.
So it looks like Green Bull entered the Flower Capital and disrupted the Wano feast.
5. Scabbards vs. Greenbull
Leaks also say that the Scabbards have a bout with Ryokugyu as well. Apparently, it’s Yamato who joins them and takes a whack at Ryokugyu’s head.
Momonosuke stops them from having a full-blown battle with the admiral. This could suggest that admiral Greenbull is strong enough to kill all of them.
6. Shanks Comes to Wano
Red Hair Shanks and his crew are nearing the shores of Wano, despite the borders still being shut. The Navy ships are also surrounding Wano, so we might see an altercation between the Red Hair Pirates and the Marines.
Shanks announces that it is time to go after the One Piece.
Since Luffy has 3 Road Poneglyphs, Shanks has probably arrived to officially partner with him. 25 years ago, Luffy had promised Shanks that they would meet again once Luffy was stronger. And Luffy has literally never been stronger.
After his Joy Boy/Nika revelation and the fact that he’s one of the new Emperors of the Sea, Luffy is definitely ready to meet Shanks.
We also shouldn’t forget the fact that it’s not just Shanks but the entire Red Hair Pirates that are going to arrive at Wano. This mean Usopp is finally going to meet Yasopp, his dad!
P.S.: There are a lot of people talking about how Shanks is here to take care of Bartolomeo (different from Bartholomew). Barto is the captain of the second ship of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
Not knowing Luffy’s relationship with Shanks, Barto burned the Red Hair Pirates’ flag, declaring war against them. This happened in the cover story of chapter 875: A Woman’s Honor, as part of The Stories of the Self-Proclaimed Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
Guys, the Straw Hat Grand Fleet isn’t in Wano. Barto isn’t even here. And besides, I think Shanks has other things to worry about than fighting Bartolomeo. Besides, when they find out they’re all on the same team, it’s not even going to matter.
7. The Reverie Incident and Sabo
As if Shanks wasn’t a big enough thing, Oda also decided to bless us with Sabo. AND one of the mysteries we’ve all been wondering about – the Reverie Incident!
The newspapers, probably from the flashback of Morgans’ Reverie news in chapter 956, say that Nefertari Cobra, the King of the Arabasta Kingdom, was killed by Sabo.
We had all suspected this ever since Garp told Neptune that there was an accident involving Arabasta after the Reverie ended.
Sabo and the Revolutionary Army were in Mary Geoise to rescue Bartholomew Kuma after the Reverie; we know that the Reverie incident revolved around him after we see the reactions of citizens and the Revolutionaries.
The news in chapter 1054 reveals that Sabo was successful in his mission to infiltrate Mary Geoise and rescue Kuma. This means that the World Government did indeed frame Sabo for killing Cobra – they want to capture Sabo and Kuma again. I refuse to believe that Sabo actually killed Cobra.
As part of the same news, it is said that Sabo is being called the Emperor of Flames around the world. Possibly, while fighting the Marines, he activated Entei, showing everyone who didn’t already know that he has Ace’s Flame Flame Devil Fruit.
Fans are already naming Sabo the Fifth Emperor, saying that if Luffy has replaced Kaido, Sabo has replaced Luffy. But, Sabo, of course, isn’t actually an Emperor; the title refers to his Devil Fruit.
Towards the end of the chapter, a new official of the Marines is introduced: vice admiral Kurouma. His actual name is Tensei, and he is the head of the Marine Investigation Unit in Internal Affairs.
Akainu and Kizaru are talking to Kurouma who is relaying the news about what happened in the Reverie.
We don’t know anything about this new character – and likely he’s not that important. He’s only there to give us the run-down of the Reverie incident. On the hand, vice-admirals are deceptively strong, so maybe he’ll have a bigger role to play.
Chapter 1054 officially releases on July 25, but I hope we see some more spoilers before then.
