Chapter 1040 of One Piece, titled “Wasted Words on Young Ears,” is the latest addition to the manga.
Big Mom is the most durable character in all of One Piece. We know this because even when Kid and Law combined their forces, they couldn’t defeat her in combat.
They did win and put an end to her reign of terror, but that was done by nullifying her power, locking her up in a bubble, and throwing her off the island.
Now that Big Mom has been taken down, we can shift our focus to the incoming battle between CP0 and Marco.

Raw scans for chapter 1041 of One Piece are out. The title of the chapter is ‘Komurasaki.’In the leaks, it was revealed that Oden had ripped the most important pages from his logbook which contained details on the Laugh Tale.
Orochi gets trapped inside a room as its ceiling fell. Komurasaki also revealed his true identity to Orochi. The CP-O boss receives an urgent order from Gorousei and it is to eliminate Luffy.
A flashback is shown where Kaido remembers meeting Big Mom for the first time when he was 15 years old. Luffy first uses the Snakeman on Kaido and then uses a new attack called ‘Gomu Gomu no Hydra.’ Luffy claims that he will not stop attacking Kaido till he runs out of energy or Kaido gets kicked out of Wanokuni.
2. Chapter 1041 Discussions and Predictions
Big Mom has finally been taken down, but this wasn’t the last of our worries. Zoro looks absolutely dead, and we could even see a new cut across his neck.
We knew that Chopper’s medicine would hurt him later but not to this level. I don’t think that this is where his journey ends, but it’s tough to predict what’s going to happen to him.
The last few panels of this chapter reveal that Momonosuke has sensed Zunesha’s arrival. Zunesha has been a fascinating character, but all we know about her is that she committed an unspecified crime 800 years ago.
Due to this crime, she is sentenced to walk the seas for eternity and can only obey a specific person’s orders. I sense an incoming sad backstory that would give us an insight into her true origins.

5. Chapter 1040 Recap
The chapter opens with the tunnel that Law created with his attack. Big Mom is clinging to the ground to stop herself from falling into the deep tunnel.
The Straw Hats’ allies are shocked to see that she’s still not getting blasted down the hole. They’re afraid since Kid and Law are very close to their limits and can’t keep going.
Big Mom’s baritone thunders, declaring that Kid, Law, and their subordinates must make a choice.
They have a chance to select their fate the moment she deflects their attacks towards them. She tells them to choose between life or slavery and uses her Soul Pocus attack.
Kid’s crew desperately asks them to get away, but their lives start getting sucked out of them.
Law gets concerned at how nothing seems to counter Big Mom and tries to convince Kid to retreat. Kid denies and asks everyone why they should be afraid of the weak words of some old woman who has outlived her welcome.
Motivated by his words, Law activates his Re-Room and exclaims that he can only imagine how hideous Big Mom’s scream would be when she goes out.
The men around them are shocked by their courage and are also surprised to see that their lives aren’t being drained out anymore.
Misery tries to rescue Big Mom by making her way towards Law. Kid snickers at Big Mom, telling her she doesn’t know when to give up. Law then uses his Silence attack and puts a stop to all the noise she is making.
Misery attacks Law but is deflected by Kid’s Damned Punk attack on Big Mom. Law simultaneously attacks Misery and cuts her in half.
Kid’s attack sends Big Mom helplessly smashing through the ground, making her wonder why her homies aren’t coming to rescue her. She crashed through the armory, surprising Yamato.
She’s shocked to see Big Mom going down crashing without making a sound. As a last attempt to save herself, Big mom manages to make a bomb blast which also engulfs the Burning Rage spirit. Yamato quickly creates a barrier to protect herself.
Momonosuke is also surprised by the explosion. Despite trying her level best, Big Mom continues her descent into the crater created by Law.
At last, the emperor of the sea, Big Mom, has been taken down by Eustass “Captain” Kid and the “Surgeon of Death,” Trafalgar Law. The chapter finally ends with Momonosuke informing Yamato about Zunesha’s arrival at Wano.
