Chapter 1036 of One Piece, titled “Bushido is the Way of Death,” is the latest addition to the manga.
In this chapter, Zoro has finally defeated King. With both King and Queen’s defeat, the war’s outcome depends on Big Mom vs. Kid an Law and Kaidou vs. Luffy. If Luffy wins, Onigashima will fall on the capital, so it’s up to Yamato and Momonosuke to save thousands of lives.
Luffy’s battle with Kaidou was finally touched upon, and they seem to be equally matched. Will Luffy ultimately defeat Kaidou and become the king of pirates? We’ll find out in the next chapter of One Piece.

The new chapter is titled ‘Shuron Hakke.’ The fight between Luffy and Kaido seems to have no end, and the festival has reached its end in the ‘Flower Capital.’During their fight, Kaido mocks Luffy by drinking sake. Kaido uses his ‘Gundari: Ryuseigen’ attack at Luffy but he soon counteracts it ‘Gomu Gomu no Rock Gatling’ attack.
Later in the chapter, government ships reach Wanokuni, and somebody informs Gorousei that they saw a shadow. After hearing this news, Gorousei is taken aback, and he recalls a legend that has never been proven true in centuries.
Gorousei talks about Akuma no Mi, and the chapter ends with revealing the identity of the shadow.
2. Chapter 1037 Discussions and Predictions
In the next chapter, the fight between Luffy and Kaidou will resume, but it most likely will not be concluded until everyone else’s battles are over.
We will get an update on Big Mom vs. Law and Kid, but it won’t be over in one chapter because Big Mom still has a lot of power left.
Also, the CP0 agents will get closer to Robin, and their final battle might take place where Robin and Brook defeat the agents once and for all.
Another interesting thing to note is that in King’s flashback, we saw him telling Kaidou until he remains the strongest pirate, King will never lose a battle. His defeat against Zoro might hint at Kaidou not being the strongest anymore.

5. Chapter 1036 Recap
Chapter 1036 picks up with Zoro’s final blow against King. As he falls, his mind wanders back to his conversation with Kaidou. His captain asks him whether the world he’s creating is really the one he wishes for.
King replies how he seeks nothing from Kaidou since his life belongs to him. He just needs him to be the strongest and promises that he won’t lose any fight either and will make Kaidou the king of pirates.
At the same time, Zoro remembers the time when he told Luffy that he’s never going to lose again. With his last strike, Zoro defeats King, fulfilling his promise to Luffy.
One of the Marys informs a masked CP0 member about this outcome but expresses how there are still two monsters in the battle who can render both Sanji and Zoro’s victories useless. These monsters are Big Mom and Kaidou fighting against Kid & Law and Luffy.
If Luffy defeats Kaidou, the flame clouds that hold Onigashima island will disappear, causing it to fall on the capital and explode.
Also, the burning spirit of Kanjuro’s hatred seeks to explode Onigashima mid-air and is heading down towards the armory with Yamato in pursuit.
Yamato finally reaches the armory and orders Fuga to destroy the door to enter the room since they didn’t have time to look for the key and then operate the levers to pull the door down.
Inside the castle, second floor Usopp faces a swarm of the Animal Kingdom Pirates who intend to take down the Akazaya samurai and the Straw Hats. Kin’emon asks him to take Kiku and escape, but Kiku denies running away.
On the other hand, Usopp yells that he’s going to leave the both of them and save his own skin. He tells them how he’s not a fan of the samurai culture and doesn’t care if running away to save his own life looks pathetic.
Just as he’s about to be cornered from all sides, Izo makes an entry and knocks down the pirates. Izo holds back the attacks as Usopp and Hamlet escape from the scene.
On the third floor, Raizo and Fukurokuju are unable to move because both of them have placed paralysis jutsu on each other. Both of them firmly stand at their spots, waiting for the other to burn in the flames of the spreading fire.
Meanwhile, Orochi is waiting for Fukurokuju in the treasure repository on the second floor. He asks Komurasaki to play his favorite song for him. We then cut to Inbi and Apoo running away from the CP0 members who were trying to capture Robin.
Zanki is left behind to battle them alone but fails to defeat them. The CP0 members report to other agents about Robin’s situation.
Finally, we see Luffy launching a Roc Gun attack on Kaidou, making him fall back. The two men start laughing and declare how they are just beginning to have fun.
