Dr. Vegapunk’s Message Continues as Imu Is Seen
One Piece chapter 1116 is titled “Conflict.” The story continues from the previous chapter, as we see everyone’s reaction to Vegapunk’s message about the ongoing war. People across the world are questioning how war can continue for 800 years when everyone should be dead by now and how no one knows about it.
The focus shifts towards Mariejois, where Imu is seen in a room of flowers. He approaches a portrait half hidden in shadow and features a woman like Vivi D. Nefertari. Then spoilers show Alabasta, where Igaram and Karoo cry over Vivi’s missing poster. Chaka and Pell are seen standing next to King Cobra’s tomb.
Cause Behind The Destruction of Lulusia
Dr. Vegapunk reveals that Imu had a portion of the Mother Flame stolen from him, which was used to fuel one of the Ancient Weapons. Vegapunk also reveals that the Lulusia Kingdom was destroyed by an Ancient Weapon powered by the Mother Flame. He doesn’t know who used it, but the world would be flooded if the weapon is used again.
In the spoilers, York deduces that Dr. Vegapunk wouldn’t just “hide” the Den Den Mushi if he knew he was in danger. She then calls out to the Gorosei, revealing that the Den Den Mushi is inside the Ancient Robot. It’s also confirmed that York is the one who stole the Mother Flame, as she questions how Dr. Vegapunk knew since she didn’t synchronize this information to Punk Records.
Dr. Vegapunk believes Joy Boy intended to pass on all three Ancient Weapons to future generations. He is unsure about Joy Boy’s intentions and emphasizes that this uncertainty makes determining which side is good or evil difficult. However, he thinks the truth will become clear one day, and when it does, the world will be at risk of flooding again.
Roger Pirates Knew Everything About The Void Century
While many mysteries surround the Void Century, only the Roger pirates were privy to all the information. The scene shifts to the Sabaodi Archipelago, where people watch Dr. Vegapunk’s broadcast. They question why Roger did not take action even after learning the truth.
Meanwhile, the focus moves to Shakky’s bar, where she beats up a pirate and teases Silvers Rayleigh for drinking excessively, as it is unlike him. Rayleigh responds by likening himself and Dr. Vegapunk to old geezers and remarks that the scientist talks too much. He adds that old men like them should not dampen the excitement of the younger generation.
Spoilers for One Piece chapter 1116 conclude with Rayleigh sitting up and smiling nostalgically, stating that it’s “their fun” now before seeking confirmation from Roger.
The chapter ends with an editor’s note stating, “he who knows the ‘truth’ simply laughs,” which refers to Gol D. Roger’s reaction upon discovering the truth about the Void Century.
