The real Dr. Vegapunk finally shows his face in chapter 1066 of One Piece, titled “The Will of Ohara.”

It was a dialogue-heavy episode. We got down into the history of what happened to Ohara 22 years ago and the reason for all that happened. Vegapunk is quite a silly-looking guy, his looks seem to be inspired by Einstein.

Chapter 1067 of One Piece is titled Punk Records. The chapter starts by revealing that Vegapunk is a born genius, and he ate the Nomi Nomi no Mi fruit. The fruit allows Vegapunk’s brain to store unlimited information. The more he absorbs date, the more his head grows.

The upper half of the Egghead island is actually made up of his brain and is still growing due to the data from Vegapunk and his six parts.

The scientist then clarifies that he wants to make this info available to all, and to make it so that anyone can input more data. So, basically, he is making a One Piece version of Internet/Wikipedia.

Soon, Lucci and the CP0 arrive, but Vegapunk denies them entry. The Vegapunks versions prepare to attack the CP0.

The Straw Hats are shocked to know about the futuristic city just like Egghead that was there in ancient times. Robin connects the dots and learns that a machine that was built in the Void Century was found by an archeologist who gave his life to the research of this futuristic country.

That machine’s manufacturing date is the evidence that supports this theory of an advanced kingdom in ancient times. Shaka further tells the crew that Ohara was destroyed because it discovered the existence of that particular kingdom.

The Void century has a history of war. There was a war between the extremely civilized kingdom and a group of 20 kingdoms. The 20 kingdoms won the war and formed the world government.

Thus, anyone who discovers the existence of the advanced kingdom ends up dead. Even with Vegapunk’s status, he himself can’t ask the government about Ohara or anything else.

Robin enquires on how Shaka knows all about this if it is not supposed to be known. Vegapunk tells her that the will of Ohara lives on. Vegapunk himself visited Ohara and paid his respect to Dr. Clover.

Dr. Clover was considered to be the greatest archeologist of his time who was captured multiple times. When Vegapunk visited Ohara, he found thousands of books and papers inside a giant lake but could not take them with him.

Memories of Ohara make Robin emotional. Vegapunk further tells them that he was acquainted with a combination of people on Ohara. One of them was Monkey D. Dragon.

Dragon talks to him about Ohara and Clover and how Vegapunk joining the world government instead of him angers him. He is furious about what the government did and decides to make a military army to take them down.

Vegapunk went to Elbaf, where he read all the books the researchers wrote of Ohara. All the information is now inside his head. Robin thanks Vegapunk for preserving Ohara’s knowledge and that the battle wasn’t in vain.

He takes everyone with him telling them that he has to show them something. Luffy, Chopper, and others are amazed to find a huge armor. The armor explodes suddenly.

They find an old man caught inside the armor and pull him out. Vegapunk comes out of there. He recognizes Bonney and Luffy.
