Rayleigh Wasn’t Chilling with Just a Bartender in Ch 1059 of One Piece

As always, the latest chapter of One Piece has revealed another secret. Chapter 1059 cleared up the hidden identity of Rayleigh’s partner.

The chapter shows a flashback of how Blackbeard tried to invade Amazon Lily. Blackbeard’s full-scale attack left Boa helpless, and she was on the verge of getting her powers stolen.

It was only the intervention of Rayleigh that stopped things from escalating. He convinced Boa to release everybody who had been turned to stone while the invaders left the island.

In the very next scene, the flashback ends, and Rayleigh can be seen hanging out with Shakky, Boa, and others.

A small panel drops the identity of Shakky. Shakuyaku is actually the former empress of the Amazon Lily from two generations ago. She is also the ex-captain of the Kuja Pirates.

She may have left her position after falling in love with Rayleigh. Nonetheless, this means Shakky is far more powerful than she seems.

Fans have started wild speculation about how this could further affect the story. In a previous chapter, Shakky commented that she would have sheltered Luffy if she were Boa. It looks like the guess wasn’t just due to her sixth sense but because she had been on the throne and knew what was the best move for anyone in that position.

This also explains why Rayleigh is friendly with the Kuja and how he can find Amazon Lily.

Shakuyaku’s royalty revelation will surely be a turning point in the story sometime soon, and you just have to wait to know how the clogs in Oda-sensei’s brain spin.
