As One Piece’s Wano arc advances one step closer to its peak with every fresh chapter, Kaido and his Beasts Pirates have proven to be one of the biggest hurdles that the Straw Hats have faced!
After Luffy was thrown into the sea by the big bad in the previous chapter, he is back on his feet; but consequentially, he needs quick transport to get back to Skull Dome, which is floating above. All the while, Yamato, the self-proclaimed Oden, is holding off Kaido all on her own.
In the scans of One Piece chapter 1020: Robin Vs. Black Maria, Luffy falls on Momonosuke to use his artificial Devil Fruit Uo Uo no Mi to get him atop the flying island Skull Dome for a rematch against Kaido.
From all that I have read so far, there’s so much more to Momonosuke than just being a watcher from the sidelines.
The most exciting fact about Oden’s son is that his artificial Devil Fruit was made through Kaido’s Lineage Factor, basically his life blueprint.
Uo Uo no Mi allows Momo to use abilities akin to Kaido; so far, we have seen him transform into a dragon and use Flame Clouds to fly.
Nevertheless, I am pretty confident that Momo will rise to the occasion when push comes to shove!
Moreover, the scans also revealed Yamato’s mysterious devil fruit to be the Makami Dog Dog Fruit, an incredibly valuable mythical Zoan Devil Fruit. Interestingly, Makami is also the guardian deity of Wano inspired by the myth of a guardian wolf in the Nara prefecture of Japan.
I am sure that no one would have been a better bearer of this Devil Fruit except for Yamato, who dedicated her life to live up to Kozuki Oden’s ideals. The showdown of Momo and Yamato against Kaido will be a legendary one for sure.
Although a lot of questions need to be answered before that. Will Momonosuke unlock more of his power during the battle against Kaido? Or will the captain of the Beast pirates reign supreme once again?
The suspense is through the roof, so be sure to catch up to the latest chapter of One Piece!
